One of the problems I noticed on picking my truck up originally is that the front CTIS shield makes it really difficult to use my gladhand hose to air the tires up. There's just not enough space for the angled neck to fit in there and make good contact. The easy fix would be to just put a stem...
Since they say it's an honor just to be nominated, I'll honor myself.
1954 Israeli marked M37 that served in both the Six Day War and the Yom Kippur War.
Mine doesn't have a rebuild tag any where but only 488 miles on the odometer and, although a 1991 truck, has a 2009 engine - per the engine tag. The tires look like they have about 500 miles on them so kind of goes with the mileage and the paint, although faded some from sitting in the Texas...
"Inbred hick" because they live in the mountains and log for a living? While I disagree with leaving it in it's present condition and have had to deal with the "I'll restore it some day crowd," don't let east coast snobbery taint your judgment of hard working people. Most of my family has been...
Probably a set up for portable sawmill. I was going to say the background looked like Idaho until I saw the OPs location. Parts of Oregon also look like parts of Idaho.
+1000 for this! We've got a 2004 GMC Canyon. We bought it new and have had dozens of recalls on it for electrical issues. It's got 240k miles on it and the only reason we still own it is the wife is too cheap to buy something else (her truck).
I put Series 31s in the new 5 ton. I got...
Well I didn't work on mine but went to help a friend recover one from N. Ft Hood yesterday. It was a long day and went mostly good but did have a minor hiccup on the way home. The truck was advertised as "runs" which means they slaved it and it started - once. Of course the batts were deader...
I got the new fuel filter this morning and installed it. The first thing I did was put the new canister gasket into the lid that's mounted under the fender and added the o-ring to the bolt. Then I put the new filter in the canister, compressed it, and started it on the bolt. I spun it up...
Went to help a friend recover his at Ft Hood. The plan was to drive it as it looked good but when we got there the alternator was missing so he had to have it shipped. Once home with a new alternator on it the thing fired right up but the tranny would not shift. That's been over a month ago...
Whether you need a Class A or B is state specific so you really need to check with your DMV. I'm sure CA requires one.
As to driving an unknown truck that far..."Do you feel lucky, punk? Well do you?" Not aimed at OP just quoting Clint.
I decided to go ahead and replace (or add) the large filter. Not really sure why it was removed but I noticed the petcock was clogged so figured I might as well clean or replace it while I was at it. After I got the filter housing fully removed and emptied I notice quite a bit of gunk in the...
Faded. There's a nice green stripe at the back where the upper blocked the sun. Another reason I need to get a shed built to park everything under. You'd think I'd learn to buy smaller stuff so it'd fit in the shop.
Swapping out the fuel filters now. I changed the small spin-on, engine mounted fuel/water separator yesterday (NAPA 3472). Easy enough to do with a filter wrench, remove, fill new one will diesel, replace and you're good to go.
Today I started on the large canister filter. The thing is on...
I pulled the canister off my 923A2 and there was no filter there (truck came straight from military). The TM only shows the small engine mounted fuel/water separator and not the large canister one. So do I need the larger filter or just put it back together like it was?
Well my new passenger seat cushions got here today so I did a little more work on the truck. The bottom cushion needs some serious cleaning so I didn't get it in but got the Smurf blue seat back changed out. Looks a little purplish in the pic but actually bluer in person.
