Got the super rope in today and on the truck. Finally looking like it should. A little too hot out this afternoon so I'll need to wait until tomorrow and scrub the cover down one more time. Now that it's stretched out it'll be a lot easier than it was laying on the ground.
This weekend I was able to pickup a set of, mostly, fiberglass troop seats, bows, and a cover for the truck. All-in-all everything looked pretty good except for some peeling paint on the part of the troop seats that isn't fiberglass, the top rails, and the wood on the bows.
Yesterday I took...
This is a scrap yard that's just selling some parts. I imagine he'll want something over scrap value but shouldn't be much more. Since he's not guaranteeing it'll work he shouldn't be getting full price for them.
Centex Salvage in Killeen bought a bunch of 923s that they are parting out. That would probably be the closest place to get a take out. Only problem is you're getting an unknown entity so I'd advise not paying more than scrap value for it.
And since you're in San Antonio...
No one has commented on the sometimes less than stellar rebuilds done at RRAD either. A lot of stories posted on here about major part failures within 500 miles of rebuild so changing all the filters would be wise. My truck was rebuilt in Kansas City, which has a slightly better reputation...
Sorry you missed out but now that you've got a new home get something going there that's similar. Mik just started by getting folks together for lunch once a month and it's spreading to more opportunities. It's nice that this show coincides with the monthly luncheon (sorry I missed today guys)...
Well it was 5 ton day at the car show this morning. Airbornebandsman, Motocar, and myself. Lots of fun seeing the "crunchies" drive through while we held up the back of the lot.
I did a little touch up painting today. The 1st spot was the left front inner fender. It was obviously tan CARC at one point and appears that the area wasn't prepped real well before they resprayed the camo. I took a scraper and got all of the loose stuff off and then reapplied some flat...
Well I could go with a Queen size waterbed if I wanted but it's a lot tougher getting it in and out of the cargo area. With the air mattress I can store it behind the seat and still have room for the dance floor.
Time to paint the 1028 3 Color Camo to match? I think I'll have a lot more floor space in the 923 at Mabry and Temple and may just go with the Queen size air mattress this time.
