Had one of the deuces with horn problems, wouldn't "blow" very loud and only with one tone. Thought it was a bad solenoid, swapped it out, and still does the same thing. Plenty of air getting to the horn, so the air supply isn't the problem. Nothing obvious stuck in the bells of the horn, ...
Has anyone done some research on this topic? Here's one of the many websites out there who sell the gear for the PICC conversion, just wondering if it's real or a lot of BS.

Someone told me that the fuze box on the M332 ammo trailer is identical to the fuze box on the M10 ammo trailer of WWII. This was relayed to me at Aberdeen by a gent who pointed out that the guys restoring WWII M10 trailers were having a hard time finding originals, and the M332 is worth it's...
Saw this listing on CraigsList. Looks like a few Dodge M880s are being parted out. Contact number for the seller is in the listing.

Someone told me recently that the military is going to be rapidly replacing its existing fleet of gas and diesel burning generators, with a new generation of gensets that are designed to burn trash. While this idea is interesting, I am not sure if 1.The rumors are true, 2.How the entire setup...
Did anyone here get the M548s that were on GSA last week, for sale in North Carolina? Last I checked there were a few days left, high bid for each was around $4900 each. They were non-runners, but otherwise looked okay....
Am shopping for new batteries for my deuce, and I read somewhere that 900 amps is needed to start a deuce up reliably. Am having a hard time finding batteries that can put out that much juice. Most I have seen are 675 cca, and around that. The highest I found was 750 cca.
Just confused...
Spent some hours going over my deuce this weekend, making sure fluid levels were topped and that everything is in order for the big trip next week in the East Coast Convoy, and the trip up and back from Aberdeen. During the inspection, I checked tire pressures, all varied between 25psi and 55...
Noticed a small problem with the jeep this weekend. Won't stay in 2nd gear. If I am in 2nd gear, and have the power on, it stays there just fine. But if I let the power up, say, if I take my foot off the gas, it will just slip out of place into neutral. It's not a huge problem, I just have...
Man, I'm getting so psyched about the East Coast Convoy! Can't wait to hit the road in my deuce, convoying with a bunch of other military trucks. Gets my blood pumping!
Folks, now is the best time to sign up, if you are planning on going to Aberdeen MV Show in two weeks, to sign up for the...
Has anyone installed the military issue cargo tie-downs inside the bed. Not the ones that the cargo cover ties down to, but rather the round metal ones that some deuce beds have. Jim Gilmore called them "nuclear tie-downs", not sure why. One deuce I had had them welded in place, rather poor...
Where is the correct location for the reflective tape "L"s that are put on the back end of deuces? I have seen some up on the bed corners, and down on the mudflaps. I have even seen one with reflective "stripes" on the rear bumperettes and nowhere else.
Also, where is the correct location...
The steering wheel on my deuce is very nice, perfect in fact, since it's new. Made from green plastic or something similar. Problem I envision is that in the summertime, with sweat being what it is, the steering wheel may get a bit slippery. Does anyone make a steering wheel cover that is...
Got the circular cutout in the engine access panel for the heater intake air hose, and the hose just flops around, no way to attach it to the panel where the air should come in. Anyone found a solution to this problem? Just going to ducttape it for now, but I know the tape will just wear off...
Well, I didn't feel like going to work yesterday (hey, I get 4 paid weeks of leave per year, I can use whenever I want. I know, you guys hate me). So I took a trip up to Coleman's in PA to pick up some more stuff before the scrappers get it. I was a little disappointed, a few things I went...
If you had a winch truck, with the winch frame extensions, but no winch was installed, how much weaker would the front frame area be if an extraction was needed? That is to say, if the truck was stuck in mud, and you hooked a chain/cable to the front shackles, and no winch was installed but the...
Found this on CL, near DC area. 1954 M37 w/w, says runs good and does not have much rust. Not mine, just want it to go to a loving home...

Was over working on the truck yesterday, the one that I took to the VA rally to clean it up and check out and make sure everything is okay, and my keeper which I will be taking to Aberdeen. While I was there, thought I would have some glamour shots taken of the trucks, all lined up nice and...
Man, I'm getting psyched! Can't wait to be tooling down the road in convoy headed to my favorite place for MVs! Anyone else getting as excited as I am?
