Favorably comparing a 12,000lb electric winch to the 10,000lb pto winch on a deuce on anything but ease of use is laughable.
The deuce winch is grossly underated and can make very hard pulls over and over without breaking a sweat. Try the same with an electric and as soon as it gets hot...
If spending that much time in a deuce appeals to you, I say go for it. Especially if your brother is a competent mechanic it should be no problem to make sure the truck is up to it.
