Well it turns out the trailer I bought yesterday is of WWII vintage. The floor is wavy, rusty, and full of holes at the front. Of course the tailgate has been butchered and the lunette is missing. So, it is a basket case like all my other junk... it should fit right in. pulls great and will...

In one of your pics the 246 has 5000 written on the left rear. Is it just me or do hardware stores in Utah have more interesting stuff than the ones other places?

Bolting a bed on should be pretty simple. The boom is a little more involved:wink:

sounds like a m34 bed, it will fit, but it is narrower than a m35 bed (if you have duals in the rear, they will stick out)

I had to loosen part of the parking brake setup when installing mine, I would imagine you will have to do so as well to remove yours. Then it is just a matter of removing the linkage/shifter, the oil line, and the PTO itself. Make sure you remove the collar from the t-case. it should be held in...

random update... I weighed the truck with the crane in the stowed position today. Empty but carrying my normal assortment of tools, spare, rigging (a couple of hundred pounds), me and about half a tank of fuel the truck weighed 18040 lbs with 8240 lbs on the front axle and 9800 lbs on the rear...
