Had another successful M1009 recovery today. 700 miles round trip. A little tired at the moment. Wanted to say thanks to Bob M, I utilized his idea to use the lifting points, and retroed a 2x6 coupling to fit. Worked great BOB!! Thanks,
Other than traffic, and lots of it!! The trip went...
Have been searching for other similar threads, but did not find any answers. Have a question:
My M1009 is really hard starting when cold. Sometimes I about give up, but starts. Do not want to put that type of strain on the starter continuosly, and need some help. Not sure if the glow plugs...
We will be picking up a M1009 from VA. Richmond. I have never been, and wondered what to expect. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Left a message today with the person at the number listed, (Jackson), have not heard back yet.
Thanks much,
I have a bad starter relay in my M1009:evil:. I need to replace. Are the 12 volt relays the same? Can I purchase at an Auto Zone, or parts store etc??? I need to get this running today.
Thanks much in advance for the help.

Recovered another M1009 today at Bordentown NJ today. It was by far the easiest recovery I have done to date. Simple getting in, and out, located just off RT 295. Chris on site is very helpful, and my father and I were in and out within 30 minutes.
The vehicle seems in great running...
Searched everywhere, could not find this information.
Little help,
What Weight?
And
What GVWR?
Did you guys put down when filling out your SF-97??
I picked up a nice one today in Bordentown.
Will post photos tomorrow of the road trip.
Thanks all,
:-D
I am picking up a M1009 from New Jersey Bordentown in the next 2 weeks. Can anyone give me some information/details about the site? Or tell me about your last visit. I have never been, and do not want any surprises the day of recovery.
Thanks,
:-D
Little help,
Can anyone tell me which, if any, of the attached engines are whistlers. Also, what to look for to identify one.
If not whistlers, what do they look like respectively.
Thanks much from a hopeful new Deuce owner.

Our Fort Meade recovery was 6/Feb and went just fine.
I planned on using a towbar for the trip, but could not get everything together quick enough. I plan on finishing my tow bar project once I get a few hours to put into it. We rented a trailer on a tip from another SS member that was large...
Question,
Can anyone tell me what engine this is? I purchased 2 M109A3's from Fort Drum.
Anyone get a chance to preview any? Most looked in great shape.
Thanks,
John:-D
I am picking up an M1008 next week at Fort Meade. I wondered if it was possible to use a tow dolly to bring the truck back to PA. I have access to a tow dolly, and wondered if it would accept a M1008. I have rented the car trailer in the past, and picked up a few M1009's and it worked great...
I picked up my M105A2 trailer today at Mechanicsburg PA. I got a great deal, and it is in nice shape. My question is, vehicle data plate is removed, and I want to request a SF-97 so I can title it. Is there anything to look for on the trailer itself, or something else to do? I figured if...
I am picking up a M1008 at Ft Meade. GL says does not run, I have a nice slave cable from my Father - In - Law, but I wanted to prepare for the worst if we can't get this truck running. I was considering a tow bar hooked to by M1009. Is there such a thing, and does anyone have one out there...
Not sure if this is the correct spot to ask this, but I need a cover for a 1.5 ton trailer. Something in new or like new condition. Can anyone help out? I am in NE PA. Will travel a bit if needed.
Thanks,
I just purchased a 1.5 ton trailer from GL. I had a question concerning the glad hand hook up on the trailer. Is this something that must be hooked up, or can you just hook up your pintle hitch and pull the trailer. My fear is the glad hand needs to be pressurized to release the brake...
