I guess that is why I always use a hammer and chisel ;-) But in my defense I have seen the marks of a hammer and chisel on trailers purchased right from the guvmint.
Surge system is pretty easy. The master cylinder is the same as a Jeep master cylinder. Take out the two bolts holding it in the assembly (the outer bolt has two nuts inside as spacers - they are supposed to be loose on the bolt) Once out you can see the spring clip on the main piston, take...
Pickup at Drum today, all went well. Kevin said he has nothing in the yard except one hydraulic test unit. But he said he think he has CUCV and M35 coming. It sure is an easier trip in the summer, last pickup I did in February.
I doubt an "unlisted" number would matter to DOD since its unlikely they use the same white pages database that we all have access to. We probably don't want to know what data they have...
Another thing to check on the trailer is that the surge brake is releasing. I have had one that didn't release 100% and the brakes dragged. Easy fix is to put a 3/8 x 5" bolt in the hole at the front of the surge brake setup that stops it from actuating. That will get you home at at 1100...
Another point-- both my M116 generator decks have a data plate that said something like "Warning this trailer has a reduced load capacity" Which I took to mean that there as not as many leaves in the springs as a M101. I have never counted the leaves but that is my best guess. So if someone...
There is only 1 place I would ever shop for mil radio parts/repairs; get in touch with Steve Haney - tc0654@mesh.net -- I have always found him super knowledgeable and fair prices.
Did you try pre-heating before cranking, maybe you just didn't film that part. But if you didn't try pre-heating per the TM before cranking. see T M 5 - 6 1 1 5 - 5 8 4 - 1 2 "starting"
Mine had the same problem. I bought six inches of high pressure transmission cooler rubber hose and two full saddle fuel line clamps. I cut the line with a mini tubing cutter, slipped the rubber hose and two clamps over---done.
When having the hoses made, make sure the hose the counter guy uses is rated for fuel. Some off the shelf hyd hose will not stand up to fuel according to local NAPA guys. If they say they "don't know" I would stay away from it. You are past the filter there and any particles from rubber...
Its a double standard pure and simple. Either you can post a link to any active "interesting" auction (GL/EBay/GSA) or you cannot. It should be enforced consistently, IMHO
