    PNW Info Thread!

When I bought my truck I was pretty ****ed strapped for cash, and 1200 miles from my tools and all around in a bad spot. I had some help from the So-Cal chapter, (Awesome dudes) and then succesfully moved back here to where the money is. My point is I understand that frustration when your out...

    PNW Info Thread!

Thanks! It wasn't looking like I could get a mortgage till June, so my plan was to have the truck running good and strong by then, as well as have a bit more saved. Opportunity came knocking, and things started happening much faster than predicted. No complaints, I am going to be so glad to...

    PNW Info Thread!

I have news in my life! I am closing on my new house near the beginning of next month! Its located near 176th and A st in Spanaway. For those who dont know, my current living situation is difficult, and working on the Deuce is.... "Frowned upon" and not permitted during the times when I am...

    "Inventing" a "New Multi-Fuel Engine"

You misunderstood, you can keep the welder, you just have to spent 15 mins helping me do the super easy conversion! Keep the money. What can I say, I am a giver :p

    "Inventing" a "New Multi-Fuel Engine"

Im no expert, but that was where my mind went when someone said Diesel in a 350. Could Deuce injectors work in the spark plug hole? Idk how well that would work... Obviously forged instide. Custom pistons, and a custom cam (Which would take some knowledge to build) My mind though, is on the...

An Aussie 5-ton RV conversion 'Mad Max Winnebago'

My sister is touring Australia right now, see your build and some photos made my night! I love your truck, its pretty much amazing! If you decided to come through this neck of the woods, Washington state, near Seattle and mount Rainier. (Dont know if your familiar with either of those) I...

    "Inventing" a "New Multi-Fuel Engine"

I would NOT start with a 4 bolt main block, just MHO. I would start with a bolt main block and have it machined for the 6 bolt bearing caps. Stronger bottom end than 4 bolt mains, which many argue are not better than the 2 bolt mains. I dont understand the argument, but I know that when I was...

    Black engine oil!?

Its possible that it has not been changed for a while, and its never a bad plan with a new purchase to do an oil change after buying, then another 500 miles later. Walmart sells Rotella 15w-40 (This is a very decent oil, designed for a diesel) cheap enough to make this feasible. However, I...

    would you drive on this?

A few members here, Josh and Scott, have seen the tires I drive from Riverside, Ca to Tacoma, Wa with, and one of them I have actually stuffed penny's into the sidewall cracks. They look like they have a bit of life left to them from my un-educated stand point, but as said elsewhere, never on...

    srodocker's "little" project

I have been very plesently suprised by the brakes on mine. All the shoes look awesome, and so does all the rubber. I blew apart my wheel cylinder because.... well, it looks like my shoes were all kinds of wrongly adjusted.... by me.... /Shame While you have them apart you aught to flip your...

    How to repack wheel bearings?

Well, daily driver shat a water pump at me, so the next thing I know my drip trays under the rear axles (that had my bearinga in them) with rain water. Didnt make me happy >.< Started packing them by hand, I must have been doing something wrong, after two hours I wasnt even half done! Barrowed...

    How to repack wheel bearings?

When I posted this, I had read the TM, but I assumed a bearing packer was a big and expensive device. Lol. The innermost seal, when I removed the inner bearings, I cant get that seal to come off. I was going to put some RTV on it, but it wont release. Am I doing something wrong?

    How to repack wheel bearings?

That video was about the funniest thing I ever seen! On one of my axles their is a HUGE amount of grease between the bearings packs on the shaft. I assume I need to clean all the old grease out, but then do I need to try and smear more in there? I have the hub apart, should I try and remove...

    How to repack wheel bearings?

Ok, I have searched, and I see a ton of folks referencing the act of packing the bearings, but no one explaining how..... I would like to pack my bearings while I have the truck apart, but I dont know what tools I need or what type of grease to buy, since I have never done it. Someone please...
