I'm cleaning the strainer on my "new to me" Mep 003 and have encountered the same issue. My unit only has 6 hours on it. The picture in the TM has the nut on top of the strainer, but my unit has it under the cup. I guess this may have been a design change? If I reinstall the nut under the cup...

I have a M101a1 and I love it and it's the right side to put behind my 4Runner or 3/4 ton truck. I wouldn't go with electric brakes, the trailer isn't heavy enough and you'd probably lock up the wheel often.

Where in Europe are you?

I had a M1101 and it looked much to big behind my 2001 2500 Suburban. It did track well. I sold it to a guy with a Dodge 1 ton 4x4 and it looked great behind his truck. I love my M101 and will never get rid of it.

I'm going to send my MEP 003 fuel tank out to get cleaned and I will be removing the fuel gauge float. Do I need to store the float in diesel or is ok to store it out in the open? Will the cork be damaged if it not submurged in fuel?

I thought that was a good idea, until I did that almost 2 days before close and ended up with a 5 ton. What was a hard one to explain to the wife.

I saw that on some non government item and thought wth. Is that the premium on all items? I guess it hard to make money when they're only selling low priced items. Can't get rich selling treadmills and tires

Thanks, I was quickly scanning thru the posts and I was expecting the creator of the thread to come back and update us in the leak since so many offers advise. I guess I was over thinking things. I'll need to read it more carefully next time.
