Doghead, thanks. I was looking in the wrong TM. Sorry. I found the right one searching for your quote.
I did start following the procedure. I disconnected the governor line. Then I felt the output air line. It was not exactly hot, but it was warm, on a cool day.
I simply followed the "warm"...
I have an M931A2 semi tractor. It starts and drives (used to).
However, today, it started fine but would not build pressure. There was air in the tanks. Maybe 80 PSI. The pressure was below 90 PSI but it would not start pumping. I purposely bled all air out down to 10 PSI, and it still would...
That's a cool idea. I have a guy who is really good at painting with a pneumatic paint spray-gun. I think that buyers will like it. I am actually very tempted to keep this truck.
Thanks Suprman. This trust is the most bad-a$$ looking truck of all I owned so far. Very excited.
As for rustproofing, if that black undercoating underneath stays, I will be happy regardless of what the green CARC paint on top of it does.
This truck specifically, also has solid green paint. I think that it is more practical, easier to touch up.
Oh, and I forgot to mention that I won that truck.
Thank you Suprman. I personally feel that their rustproofing leaves much to be desired. I wish their body panels were galvanized. I believe that in the long run, it is much more expensive to rebuild and eradicate rust, than to do a good galvanizing in the beginning.
Look at this truck (completed auction)

In the video, at 1:04, a rebuild tag appears saying: blount island, usmc/honeywell
Does this mean that it is a Marine Corps truck?
Yes. It is my cost. I own the truck. I would never provide this as a service at cost. I would have to charge $1300 for Sparta to Chicago and 1300 for Indianapolis to Chicago. A delivery like this would be done in to days. Day one, go there, pick up load, drop in my yard. Day two, deliver from my...
I shipped four 5 ton trucks using our semi truck with a lowboy trailer and winch. My best estimate what it cost me (labor, fuel and wear on the truck) is $700 for Sparta to Chicago and $600 for Indianapolis to Chicago.
The end was kind of boring. Turns out that the pump was out of prime (as some of the people said), after 200 or so times I pressed the hand pump, it did start and ran fine.
I identified another issue. The fuel gauge does not work, specifically when I switch it to the right tank, it shows almost...
I assume that good price means less that iron scrap value. If so, buy it and part out. It is not worth the while to perform any intensive repairs. Good trucks are available cheaply from the government.
