I had to replace ABS ECU on my M927. I will look into the old one to see if it failed the same way. If I fix it, I will keep it as a spare. Will post an update.
I like your way of thinking, and I also suspected the same. However, the kill lever is pushed all the way in (normal operation).
The kill switch seems to pull a lever on the injection pump. That same lever is also engaged by the solenoid that stops the engine. It retracts when I start cranking...
I have a new problem. I have a M931A2 semi tractor. It has always been easy to start.
I showed up at work (where it is) today. It would not start. Cranks and does not produce much white smoke. (I have a M927 that makes a lot of white smoke when it cannot start without ether).
I know the...
I tried starting my M927 yesterday. The temperature was 30 degrees F.
My M927 has four original batteries. It would not start, and produced copious white smoke, without ether. Since I had one new ether bottle, I replaced the empty one with it. With ether, the truck started on the second crank...
I am just wondering. What do you gentlemen and ladies think, is a fair value of a tarp and bow set for a M923 truck. Condition is very good. Not overpriced, but "easy to get that price when selling" price. Thanks.
An update. I think that it has not stopped working. I think that CTIS is properly reacting to imbalance of pressure between tires and displaying a warning.
When I started the truck this morning, I saw five lights, then I hit RUN FLAT, SAND, HWY. That got the truck on the right track, it...
I have a M931A2 semi tractor.
It used to have a functional CTIS, it would deflate the wheels and inflate them. I tested it a couple of months ago.
Now (1 month later) it is not working. The symptom is as follows:
1) I start the truck
2) A few seconds later, farts are heard as the CTIS...
While I am sympathetic to your situation and would be interested, I prefer not to be "dealing" in that stuff for legal reasons. If I can use a couple of buckets, I would, but I prefer to avoid any trading of any kind in any sort of oils, used or new.
I make a living by buying surplus stuff at auctions. As such, I have access to brand new -- never used -- oil, such as new hydraulic oil, motor oil, way oil, etc. Usually that stuff sits in barrels and unopened buckets and no one wants it.
While, ordinarily, it costs a lot more than diesel...
I agree with the other posters, do not buy batteries unless you check the truck out. Hire a local person if the price is reasonable. Your truck is very valuable because of the hydraulic setup, you can use it to tow trailers with hydraulic winches.
I have such a trailer with a hydraulic...
You can buy a running ugly truck for $3k from GL, get the engine, and scrap the rest and get appx. 2k back. You can make more if you part it put more effectively.
Sorry for a dumb, unrelated question. My main driving vehicle is a Chevy Silverado 3/4ton pickup with 4WD.When I switch to 4WD,steering becomes more difficultand wheels tend to grab the road.Is it correct that it means that it has locking differentials?
