I found this... would this happen (obviously to a lesser degree)
This is what I am/ was worried about...
are the various vents discussed together in the TMs anywhere?
does the fuel tank vent connect to a crank case vent?
I have thought about it, but the fenderwells in the 105 bed would drive me nuts, and getting rid of them would be as much work as shortening the pipeline bed.
except for dealing with the weight of the components you don't need anything more than a decent set of hand tools (wrenches & a socket set) air tools would definately speed things up though.
I know a guy that talked to a guy whose ex wife's second cousin had a deuce that didn't leak. Of course he had to trade the jeep he bought in the crate for $50 to get it.
I operated the crane using the truck’s power for the first time today. :-D Everything works, but the cylinder that extends the jib leaks badly when extending the second stage. Looks like I will start repacking cylinders sooner than I had hoped.
Adding a winch is very straight forward. I agree with the $1000-1500 estimate for the parts.
Here is when I did mine.

I imagine you will need to cut holes in the bed way bigger than the pipes themselves due to frame flex.
Speaking of which, has anyone checked how much bobbed trucks' frames flex? I am amazed how much the frame can flex on a stock deuce.
I haven't seen one, but I think that if you cut away the material outside of the reinforcement rib on the metal part and trim the rubber to match it would look "right"
