Welcome to Steel Soldiers. Several people have added winches. Cruise around the site some and try the search function for details.

Would These fit on an M818 or a Deuce

That is the most common size for super singles on a deuce. They are the same size as the 395/85R20, just heavier rating and more ply). I have used that size on my M818 and it looks/runs good. Here is the thread with pics...

    Trailering a deuce

Ouch! That trailer only has single wheels, not duals. Driver was trying to compensate for that by maximizing weight on the truck duals.

    Trailering a deuce

Thanks for the update. Don't forget to post up with some pics or we will lynch ya!

    Trailering a deuce

Rizzo, thanks for investigating the issue, but I don't see any circumstance where a 1 ton pickup should be grossing 63,400#. Legal or not, scale or not.

Uneventful M35 towed recovery with M818 (pics)

I am almost certain I have seen TMs conflicting on the issue of a driver in the towed vehicle. Maybe one superceedes the other. I think the more recent one indicates no driver in the towed vehicle. Must have been some mishaps along the way.

    Trailering a deuce

Good luck in getting your truck home. I know this is at least the second attempt for you. The dodge dually shouldn't have much problem pulling the weight, but I doubt he will be within his rated load. BTW, how much does the firetruck weigh? Is there even enough deck space to get a deuce on...

M818 recovery (important note for all newbies!!)

It was no problem my friend. Thanks for posting the pics. Your truck looks better from the back than the front. rofl The "small" indentation in the hood gives it some character! Anybody have a M809 hood for sale? When you pulled away, that black smoke was just pouring out the stack...

four door or qaud cab Deuce

Yes, or you can use springs/mounts from M105 trailer. Search the classifieds here, ebay, craigslist, gsa, gl, etc to find what you need.

four door or qaud cab Deuce

RE: four door or qaud cab duece Yeah, several people have done 4 doors. I searched for crew cab deuce and got 48 hits. See if any of those links can help.

    LowBoy ID

Yep, that looks like a M172 25ton lowbed trailer with custom ramps added. The stock ramps are really HEAVY and must be manualy put in place to use. Two guys can do it, but it is a chore. To make the trailer more practical, adding some fold down ramps is recommended. Another thing to note is...

5 ton & CCC Road Speeds

You can easily run off and leave the M939 series with a M915. M916-M920 are geared a little lower, but they will still fly, even while pulling a load.

What do you want changed about GL?

I would like an improved auction process, similar to ebay. Ending results, pictures, bidder numbers, winning bids, etc. should be available to all bidders for at least 30 days.

    Potential shipping problem

RE: Potential shipping theft, please help.... I don't think the circumstances above warrant you accusing this guy of theft. Check with GL and the driver in the morning then report back.

    Anyone using these?

Damn tire kicker! rofl Those wheels look super nice, but they are probably better suited for a lighter 4x4 than a deuce. Also, I'm guessing most folks here spent less on their deuce than a set of those double beadlocks will cost! Check out www.odiron.com for a cheaper alternative.

    M818 Transfercase help (update)

Re: RE: M818 Transfercase help Yes, where were you? I only saw one other guy in the GL lot and he was picking up two M105. He said he was from Wyandotte. I told him I was there once. When we rolled out there was a drop deck semi there picking up stuff. I said hello to the driver...
