If you head to Ccolemans sometime... I'd be willing to bet there's some Amish sawmills up that way. White Oak & Locust are great, and Larch is fairly rot resistant for softer wood.

I have the whole thing I can email... PM me an Addy. it's TM 9-2320-365-24p I added it to the Resorces section but it hasn't been approved AFIK yet. (It's a 19,000kb file)
The Mil surplus ones are Gas OR Diesel, there's no Multi's that I'm aware of. The gas are mostly 3 and 5 KW units and the diesel are 3kw on up. The welder in the link doesn't take AC power direct...... it's Operates on open-circuit voltage and voltage: 14 – 48 VDC/110 Max OCV.
No kit. if you don;t want to modify the carb, make an adapter or modify one of the elbows or other fittings before it. the key to using propane is the demand regulator.

Looked in IHS and the Gov't cost is listed at $2.01.... so the $4.50 isn't all that far off on the markups I've seen on some of the older replacement parts I've had quoted.
The float sounds like the plastic/foam one alot of people have been having issues with. Ethanol seems to be causing issues with it somehow. There's no known direct replacements. I've had issues with a 2a016's loosing power after time as well. It has the same carb on it as well. You could alos...
Is the float swelling?? Ethanol in gas is known to casue the floats (some kind of foam) to swell in these carbs. I'm getting close to running a test with a coated one vs a new "custom made" one using a Oregon 49-009 and making a new pivot to get it to fit into the carb.
I've also read that...
Bingo... did some more playing around.........
The first goes to a fire truck... the next 3 go to 2.5 ton LMTV's and the last goes to a MRAP
