I just did my inner axle seal on the M35A2 which began leaking just recently and thought I would add my 2cents. This thread was a great help in getting it done and I would encourage anyone else contemplating the task to read it twice. My seal had all of the appearance of not having been apart...
I got mine off the lot there at Fort Sam a year and a half ago and it had the same issue at first. Fortunately Rod is really good about letting you do what you need to get it off the property. My master cylinder looked like it hadn't been open since it's 1989 overhaul, filled it up with DOT 5...
Erik's has the twist tabs that go over the door window rail if yours are missing, the three rods are easy to make with some stock bar steel from Lowe's and a hammer/vice.
That was cool stuff [thumbzup] your camera work was neat with the depth of field and bringing some things in and out of focus, twilight exit in the deuce...and Ash..wow. Caught the M1 thompson stuff on the link, best slow mo of shell casings coming right at the camera ever...and Ash..wow. Lucky...

I love my M35A2, got it from GL 2/10 and use any excuse to drive it...need a candy bar from the corner store...get the Deuce! I found this site AFTER I made the purchase and was waiting on my EUC. I spent hours on the serch function and still do on all my questions. Am I glad I got one? You bet...
Local FD just purchased a M35A3 to build into a brush truck...well they didn't want the cargo cover, bows, staves, headache rack and troop seats, so I assisted hauling them off. Troops seats are all fiberglass, camo and like new. What is the saying..even a blind squirrel finds an acorn once in a...
http://www.steelsoldiers.com/deuce/67195-solenoid-m35a3.html I think I did this right...if you have eliminated bad connections at the battery, starter, relay and ground cables, then the soleniod is a common problem. The two contacts and disc get pitted just from use over years. The link should...
If it helps any my M35A2 is registered as a big pick up truck, based on wieght for TX $168 renewal per year...the first time you title it you will pay tax on the purchase price. I didn't go FMV tags so I can drive anytime day or night to work etc. I love my A2 and get more smiles to the miles...
That's great stuff! Makes me want to go get another. Seems like prices are more reasonable up your way in Kansas. The big city here in Texas seems to drive things up from time to time, that said I have got some deals. Thanks for posting the photos.
