Deuces are part of the M44 series of trucks. This includes M35A1's, M35A2's, M35A3's, M109A3's, M36's, etc. They share a lot of common characteristics covered by the M44 series manuals.
If it's like the gas small-block pumps, I had a long and frustrating night doing the same thing until I came across a great tip. Lift the push-rod up with your fingers or some long needle-nose pliers, whatever it takes. Then, slip a long hacksaw blade (or something similar) in there to hold it...
Not sure as I haven't actually laid eyes on one, yet. My guess is somewhere around 10" or so. You have to be careful when looking because they make a 1:72 die-cast version and a 1:32 plastic/die-cast one. I'm looking for the bigger one.
Anybody know where (or if) you can find a plastic deuce kids toy? The boy got a Mack semi with flatbed trailer and backhoe for Christmas. The whole rig is about 3ft. long. I'd love to find something similar as a deuce. If not a deuce, any MV would do. Thanks!

If you can afford it, why...
If they are keeping motor homes year round without hassle, you should be good to go. Now, if they've just been overlooked to this point, and someone complains about your truck, then the motorhomes might have to go to. Might turn into a big mess.
I think military recommends this in one of the TM's. In fact, I think they recommend 10-15 pounds. Lots of guys on here have done it, I think it's a pretty well established procedure.
I don't know, I just didn't think of it like that. If I had a working stock winch, I'd probably leave it alone. You'd be adding a lot more components to worry about to gain, in my opinion, very little. The stock winch is plenty safe if you know what you're doing. Any winch is unsafe if you...
Seeing a deuce in person might cause him to pee his pants (so much for being potty-trained). Seeing a 5-ton might cause his eyes to pop out of his head.
