Be real careful when you are wading through all of that seller's BS :) Without an engine, I don't think if would be worth more than a couple hundred bucks.
The truck is an XM816 and the engine is Cummins NHC-250. A thorough review of the operators manual for the M809 series of trucks will yield a lot of good information for the museum.
Here is a pic of mine. Although I believe the flag is properly displayed, I probably need to get a bigger one. Happy flag day!
BTW, great idea for a thread.
Send the pics on.
I think my Dad served in the following roles during 68 & 69
61st company (platoon leader)
563rd trucking company (company commander)
541st transportation officer (s2, s3)
RE: Re: rims
Look for some M939 series 5 ton rims or HEMTT rims. Either will be 10" wide.
Thanks for editing your post. Maybe you could improve on the subject next. It will get more attention and might help with future searches.
These tires/wheels are designed for the 5 ton bridge trucks. They don't really fit on anything else. They will rub on a standard 5 ton front axle and the 10 tons have 24" rims. I would LOVE to buy them, but shipping would be the killer. The price is good!
