RE: Re: RE: AVM hubs
Great side-by-side comparison pics Gerhard. I really appreciate the detail at which you analyze things. Maybe either style of hub is dependable and works, but I would have a hard time putting something that says 4x4 on my 6x6 deuce! Now if I bobbed it, well, that is a...
Congrats on the M1009. The first thing I would do is download the CUCV technical manuals here from the site. That will cover most everything. I would also search the site here for information regarding the glow plug system and the starter relay. Those are common failures on the CUCVs.
Yep, the Service line (yellow or blue) uses air to activate the service brakes on the trailer when the brake pedal or trolley valve is activated. The Emergency line (red) is a constant air supply used to keep the trailer tanks charged. A loss of air on the emergency line (trailer gets...

I had a great time with these guys. The DDay park was a great choice and the weather was perfect. About 70s and sunny in the day and cool enough for a big campfire at night. Here are a couple of photos I took. Do any of these change your perception about Oklahoma?
The CUCVs, like most military vehicles, have a 24V system. It is best to jump a 24V truck with another 24V truck. Using the military slave cables makes it easy. Try the search tool on the site for a lot of good information that will help you get this truck up and running. If it were me, I...
Why the M270? I think you are going to be much better suited with an M172. Well built, lower to the ground, and a dovetail to boot. The ramps are VERY heavy though. Also overwidth in stock form. Check around on GL. I see them on there all the time.
I have always loved this pic.
RE: engine swap questions
What application do you plan on using your M813 for? A different truck might suit your needs better and already be equipped with sufficient power.
