If you go with the M1009 and 1 ton axles, you may need to swap out the gears to 3:73's. No overdrive and 4:56 gears in my M1028 limits me to about 55-60 mph and that's with 37" tires.
Awesome man!!! That beats the crap out of bailing wiring one to the side of the bed!! Hope you don't mind, I think I will fab one up also. Check out these rock sliders I built.

If you haven't already I would check the crank shaft counter balance (harmonic balancer) for wobble. If it has wobble replace. With that many miles at high RPM you want her smooth as possible.
Honestly, I had no plans of selling these or a parts kit. But...there seems to be a good interest and since I have access to my M1028 and a couple buddies M1009's. I could just build a kit each and see if they sell and take orders accordingly. As I told another guy I am in the middle of setting...
More build tips:
Next I built my tube step part of the sliders using the 1-1/2 sch40 pipe. You want to take the measurment for the lengh of these on the short side of the angle you cut for the rock slider body. Subtract about 8" from each end to determine where to start the bend in the pipe...
Yea, only two attach points due to the fuel tank being on the outside of the frame on the drivers side...would have done three otherwise. These things are **** for stout though!!!
Few more tips for building these. Build your mounting plates first, drill and bolt to frame. (Be careful drilling through your frame, watch out for brake lines and such, you may have to move them a little) Once I got my mounts bolted to the frame I tac welded the head of one of the top bolts on...
Man the shipping alone would cost as much as materials. You can build these no problem, just takes some doing. They are one of the first things guys comment on!!:-P
I would say around 8-10 hours total and about $150. Had some good friends help to. This project is worth while for sure, these things are super beefy. You could use a hi-lift jack to pick up the truck under the rock sliders if you needed to and not bend anything.
The best advise I can give if you plan on making these is mock up the mounts and braces using card board or poster board before ever making a cut on your steel. Use them as your templates. Makes things soooo much easier. I am a machinist so I have access to alot of tools that most guys may not...
I made rock sliders for my M1028 after seeing some built in a Peterson's 4wheel and offroad article. (See Link)

I though that it was a great Idea but wanted mine a little different. For one I didn't want them to be welded to...
No problem, glad to share. I'm thinking of posting how I built my rock sliders, if you guys are interested I will take some detailed pics and do a write up. Let me know if there is any interest. Thanks.
They aren't really noticeable in my avatar but here is a bigger pic...
Thanks guys :D, i've been a member for awhile just never posted. I have been able to find answers to just about every question i've had with my M1028 on this site. As for my user name i came up with it playing lots of Call of Duty online.
I stumbled onto this site and thought I would share it. Some good general information on a lot of common questions.
