dripping
Fluid dripping down the front tire could also be liquified grease from the front axle or front gear oil.
It is not necessarily brake fluid but certainly could be.
If you have not been into the bearings and inspected the brakes this is a good time to do so.
Let us know what you find as...
Checking brake fluid
There is a cap with a square nut on top. You will also have a vent attached to it the same as the top of the axles or tranmission or tranfer case unless you have a hard line coming from it. Some versions were improved and had the vent go up into the r/h engine side of the...
ITS troubles
Call thier bluff and send them a certified letter in the snail-mail.
It works with G.L. since you get that nice little green card that is proof of their receipt, and they know it. :-D

deuce hose
Can anyone describe the trimming procedure for the NAPA Deuce hose?
I have the number from this thread which contradicts the number from the cross reference chart which is NAPA #20611.
If it works then that is the one that I will buy but what end needs to be trimmed and how much...
My friend is making a trip to Phoenix from Little Rock.
The trip to Phoenix is full but he has a small, 5th wheel trailer behind his 1 ton Dodge P.U. that is empty coming back.
This was an uplanned, last minute trip for him but he can carry up to 5,000 lbs.
from Phoenix, AZ area back through...
Hello out there.
I'm pulling my radiator out due to some structure coming un-soldered.
My anti-freeze & water is blue. Has anyone proven that the genuine army purchased antifreeze is any better than civy green stuff or are there recommendations for antifreeze replacement?

Hello out there. I was wondering if any has changed the ball joints on their
M1009 front axle yet.
I think that I need a OTC 7080 which is a 1 inch spanner nut socket for the upper nuts.
Can anyone confirm that? :lost:
Thanks,

There is another guy up there that looks like the jolly old man that comes around in December that has a really good thread on alternative heaters as
he sufferes from the same "extended" winter as you. His truck is red in color with a really neat engine that he installed.
It's really really...
You have proven tha most (or all) of your wiring and bulbs are good due to the fact that the rear turn signals illuminate.
Jumping the switch is a really good start.
Of course, no air in the system and no activation of the air operated switch= no lights.

drgreg,
I don't ses it as a "problem" but perhaps a small glitch in our genetic encoding.
Now my wife on the other hand sees it as a problem but she is not capable of seeing the big picture.

My son works for UPS (for 7 years) and he said that touching a UPS truck on it's way to the crusher is taboo.
They crush anything that they are not going to use and no parts are taken off.
I wish they would allow parts to come off as they usually maintain their trucks very well but everything...
Look in Colorado. They have not been able to use salt for over 35 years in the winter and my replacement body tub came from there. Really nice condition.
I have not replaced it yet but will soon as mine went to Desert Storm and soaked up the salt air.

I may have missed it in the trhead but there was a production change. The '83 & 84 used one style nut (yours) and the 85, 86, & 87 CUCV used the other style.
I took the older ones off and threw them over the fince and purchased the new ones from Chevy and then purchased the appropriate socket...
Well o.k., since you ARE wearing boots in all the pics we'll be nice.
Welcome to the club. This is generally a Termineal Desease that you will take to the grave and no cure available.

Hello there puppy, you know that you absolutely must have a matching trailer now. Welcome to the "Terminal O.D. Green Psych Ward". There is NO ESCAPE!
Carnac will be able to help you if it is an Army or ARNG truck. Look for the 2009 VIN thread and post there. He'll respond when he can.

I have pics at home (am at work) but for a "quickie" look at some of them on G.L. Auction sites. The plate is mounted through two holes on the top of the bumper behind the brush guard and mostly on center of the grill and L/H headlight trim. If the holes are there then you can't go wrong.
