did you clean the cross member off? It will drip for a day or two depending how much oil was on it. How did the pan look behind balancer ,in picture looks like a gap? Did you use rtv on pan or gasket. I use gasket and a bead of anaerobic seal with a dab at angle change at the timing cover. Clean...
Detroitdiesel, I dont know where you are? I m in Pt Pleasant and I have 2 stock trucks that have fully stock systems that you can view,take pictures that might be easier for you to understand but once you see it makes the TMs a bit less scarey. Pm if you need help.

balancer/ dorman 594-128 about 60.00. Its all a easy job. When doing put cardboard on the inside of radiator just incase! because you want to go down that road.
If its at the front of the pan and drips onto the front cross member pull the balancer and replace the timing cover seal. national seal#3945 from any auto parts store 8 bucks
Water temp is the one behind the steering pump with green wire. The 2 your interested in are in the rear side passenger head and back top of drivers head.
Rtv isnt the right sealant for the joint where the rubber gasket meets the paper or cork gasket in the rear of the pan. Rtv cures with air, anaerobic sealant cures without air. So when you put together pieces rtv only just skins over and when your cdr clogs with oil it will pressurize the block...
