it all depends on the transfer case...
a sprag equipped truck engages based on speed differential beteween the front/rears
an airshift case engages on command (it is actuated with an air switch)
Does anyone have any reccomendations on who to send a deuce IP to?
truck is running great, but I am still putting fuel in the crankcase. I don't want any extra performance, just stop the leaks.
Edit:
the truck has a "D" block with a "D" turbo
RE: Re: RE: M35 variants, What
the less common trucks went higher w/ their generation numbers... I have a 1966 M185A3 (multi fuel, OD shop van) the M35 didn't get to the A3 designation until almost 20 years later
wow, this thread takes the cake for the most wrong info.
For future reference...
CJ2A roughly equivalent to MB/GPW
CJ3A roughly equivalent to m38
CJ5(early version) roughly equivalent to m38A1
CJ6 roughly equivalent to m170 (LWB version of M38A1 primarily used as an Ambulance)...
I'm thinking that was so the tires (circa 1970) would have a sufficient load rating. I would hazard a guess that those new 11R20's are rated for more than the good old 1100 20 ndt.
