New addition to the HMMWV fleet.

Nice save! Is a M1101/1102 trailer in your future to mate with the HMMWV?

    Help I.D. this engine

I keep the headlights low if you're going to keep it non-winch. BE DIFFERENT! Everyone flips them and history loses the knowledge that low-mounted lights ever existed at all. How many guys here have the low lights? Not many. Like Hot Rod Magazine pitched about 20-25 years back when they...

GMC owner/picture thread. Putting a face to the trucks

I always loved that pic. It says, "I'm happy I got a GMC but NO BRAKES!"

M332 trailer for a bobbed deuce?

That's some pretty beefy springs and hardware. I think you can do it but it might be overkill and a pretty stiff ride. My two cents. I've seen bobbed deuces use the M332 bed and it looked pretty cool....

Help me buy this deuce, problem ?

If the fuel in the tank is old, or he used a mix of junk and hasn't run the truck in a while, the goo is just old fuel. Dump the tank, insert new fuel and try it out.

    GL new website

I saw it. Navigated the website. Looks and works stupid. I liked the older site better, only thing I like about the new site it is seems like they are using bigger pictures now (bout time, they've been using large thumbnails in a megapixel world for 10 years now).

    SAE or Metric???

Nothing. But this is America, we built it with SAE parts. And buying two sets of tools is costly. :)

    SAE or Metric???

For the most part, most vehicles up until about 1990 are SAE. Most since are a mix. For laughs, take a gander at the maintenance manual for the FMTV series trucks. Lots of metric stuff, but SAE is in there too. Enough to give a mechanic a migraine. SAE or metric tools? Just buy...

    Went to the junkyard

Chevy trucks from those years are EVERYWHERE. They were an extremely popular vehicle for GM during those years, and it will be at least another 10 years before they start getting uncommon. The junkyards here are loaded with them too. They just want $120 for a bench seat, $100 for a fender, etc.

Plan on a trailer restoration to go along with your restored tractor, VT?

    Deuce road tractor conversion

This thread is awesome! I love seeing the progress. Plan on restoring and repainting the semi trailer now?

BFR Metals, Salina Kansas, a Goodie Hole

It's a shame I'm not closer, I'd be there with a socket set and a torch cutting off all the good parts for sale later. I'd be happy to pay scrap prices for parts that are sought after! But KS is a long way from VA. :(

    Glass went boom

That's odd, door glass is usually tempered and shouldn't shatter like that, at least not just by closing the door. Might want to check inside the door and see if there are any other reasons why the glass broke when lowered into the door, just in case. Might be able to find a replacement door...

    How to Mount Civilian Batteries

I haven't owned a CUCV, but with my deuces I did the same - cut blocks of wood the right size and shape and it took up the rest of the room okay. I'm sure there was a little wiggle but the top bracket made sure the batteries weren't going anywhere.

Steal of a deal on that bench seat. Can't find deals like that around here at the pull-your-owns.

    M113s and Variants in Vietnam

Could be Australian trucks - the Aussies also served in Vietnam with us, they used M113s as well.

    Helicopter support trailer?

Almost looks like a smaller version of the portable light trailers that were built on M116 frames. Here's one of them that Soni H. made into a offroad trailer.

    official M715 picture thread

A few of my old M725 that I had from 2004-2008. Tony Casey bought it, and it's still for sale on his website in NC. Wish I finished it, but it doesn't have too much more to get done.
