    Got a Deuce! '62 M35A1

Parts (oil cooler cover and inj lines) showed up today. Have the third member ready to go into the middle axle....lots of work to do tonight, but stoked to get to drive it again. Thanks to those who've helped directly or indirectly.

Thanks, that's what I had in mind, but mine doesn't seem to be the same size/config as what I've seen online. They are usually larger top to bottom. I'll keep my eyes out for an alt. Don't even know if this gen works yet. Just talked to a local guy that says he has parts.

You're not going to believe this deuce bucket truck.

Yup, I see now. I was distracted by the craziness.

You're not going to believe this deuce bucket truck.

Owner/builder is an eccentric ole green iron collector in the next town over. Hope to snag some deuce parts.

I couldn't find a picture of a tag online that I could tell was like mine. Want to know if it's a TD- thick block? Anyone have a tag like this that can tell me what the X's are? Thank You Should be the big whistler, but haven't noticed much whistle compared to videos I've seen online...

Busy doing other stuff and too tired to wrench tonight, but I did clean and photograph all my ID tags to see what I've got. Working on pics and research. Prelim version: '72 LDS-465-1A 3053A Trans '65 front axle EDIT : Also went hunting for and found some green iron at lunch today. You're...

Is there a thread for gotchas/hazards?

Things to watch out for safety wise, etc.? Brake line chafing points, eletrical chafing/fire hazard points, etc.? Tricky stuff that shows up wiht age that may not be in the TMs. Maybe a make sticky? Thanks!

It's going to the Patton museum. Big honkin winch built into the front of the bed. Air Force, gas, decent shape.

Absolutely! I can't stand the yellow white color now. I have blasting and painting eqpt. Want the older darker semi gloss OD with the white star on the door like my dads. Gotta figure out electrical eventually. All the original electrical is pretty much toast. Thinking about some kind of...

Cut up a bent axle housing tonight and got the diff out and ready to go in the deuce's middle axle tomorrow. Lots to do, but I bet I'll be driving and stopping in a week or two. Also buttoned the compressor filter back up. Photobucket is malfunctioning or I'd post pics. Thinking about...

    Got a Deuce! '62 M35A1

Figured I should start looking into brakes while I wait for engine parts. Hooked the shop air up to the truck and fixed some leaks and the horn valve. It was stuck "on" and gave me a pretty good scare when the air hit it...

Dumb question, haven't looked closely enough, too busy, too many things to remember in a short time frame...are the gasser air compressors the same as the multis? Thanks

Trans pattern IIRC, haven't driven it much and only past 3 in low. R25 N 134 Long day. Picked up good later model A2 frame with smashed cab, 3 axles, and an air shift tcase. Winch off another truck. Gotta go back for more sheet metal, etc., gonna need some dogbones and a rear leaf spring...

Speaking of diffs... Tore into the non working middle axle. Seems it's been worked on and isn't right. No broken shafts. Chunk is primer red, not green. Looks OK from the top. Didn't drain it yet, but it's full. Deuce in front of a couple of the welding bays. Oh, hey, that's not good. Add...

More boneyard shopping. SCORE! Airshift! Rolled truck, AM General, was multifuel, has airshift, not much of it left/good except the frame, Tcase, rear axle, but has dash plates etc. I need. I think this is a 5 ton steering gear laying out. might grab it in case I lock the front diff.

Yup! I will have to see if I can dig up pics of me and my dad's deuce when I was a kid. Used to pull down pine trees with the winch, block and tackle to enlarge our clearing in the woods in WA. Roots and all, like a weed. In this day and age of iPhones, we get lots of pictures and videos all...
