Started Cleaning
I started cleaning on the MKT yesterday. Normally I would start at the top and work down so any gunk washed down stream would get cleaned up at the end. Knowing I was going to have to get down on the floor to do some of it made me decide to start there first instead.
I took a...
I started pulling the serving ware out for cleaning this afternoon. I imagine I'm going to be busy with some steel wool cleaning up the cutlery.
I've found 3 bicycle air pumps so far. I'm going to guess they had something to do with the old style burners but not certain.
Lots of aged hot...
I have 2 extra MBUv3s but imagine the shipping would make it cost prohibitive.
I'm also looking for the AC invertor in case someone has a pile of them.
Mike - I appreciate the help. With so many SS members getting MKTs you might need to set up a retail store somewhere. Or maybe a door-to-door service like Schwan's:-P
thtrev - the fuel hose for the hot water heaters appear to be kind of unique. Someone told me they looked like a line in to...
Big Ladle and a spare bucket. Either that or just heat a couple of the deep pans on the gridle and wash them there.
Some of us don't have all the bells and whistles like Mike so we need to be more "field expediant."
I have some field hot water heaters but a) don't think they'll get hot...
How about just heating water in a pot on one of the burner units? I've got a couple extra MBUs thtrev that I'd be happy to trade for one of your AC invertors.
He said he had the Travel Cover. It's just a matter of finding it. I guess that's part of the problem of having so much stuff.
I'm going to try and inventory mine this weekend if it stops raining. If I'm going to have him dig one thing out I might as well add to the list while he's looking.
Got some KP to do before I'll even boil water in that pot.
I know I'll make it to Muster at Camp Mabry and I'm going to try and drag it to the Temple Air Show. Beyond that it'll be burning burgers in the driveway for a while.
While they do work as that I find I can shoot my red, plastic coffee can further than I could an aluminum Mermite insert. That's half the fun of starting the deuce.
I need a Travel Wrap before I start dragging it all across the state. SCSG-G4 has one but he needs to dig it out and then get it from SC here. Likely first outing will be Muster in Austin.
Only pictures. That's why I wanted it set up before she got home. It looks a little better "unwrapped." I would have liked some better weather to get it cleaned up a bit first. I'll probably strip everything out on Monday and pressure wash it with some Dawn. I want to get the MBUs in and...
One question I have for the guys using M103 or M105s - I couldn't get the landing gear up. It was in place when I looked at it the 1st time (lunette was on the ground) but I dropped it in to the lowered position to try and change the tires. Now it's hitting at the top of the landing gear so...
I towed it with my F250 with no problem. It is raining so I went mighty slow (<50) all the way home but no issues at all. I think the wet loaded weight is around 5500 so your 1 ton should be fine.
