Problem with swapping beds is having to pull the 10kw off the 116 and then swap the beds. Seemed like jacking them up and rolling the axles out would easier.
I have a M101 and a M116A1 gen set trailer. I'm thinking about swapping the axles so I can have surge brakes and GM bolt pattern wheels. I don't forsee needing to tow the genset any where but I'm thinking of taking the 101 on the MVPA ALCAN Convoy next year. If I'm pulling it behind my M1010...
Looks like it has the M1010 alternators. Does it have the DUVAC set up on the left front inner fender? That's what causes most of the electrical problems with the 1010s. The system never worked well for the military so they tried a few fixes but those never worked really well either. What...
I meant to cover the $90 million for the museum. I'm a little short at the moment but I'm sure when the lotto check clears I can handle most of that. Course I need to buy a lotto ticket first. I always forget that part.
If they do want to total it for less than you think it's worth you can always agree on a reasonable amount with you keeping the "salvage." Make sure in that instance they agree to not "brand" the title so it doesn't show up as a "salvaged" vehicle.

I have to tell you Larry, just walking around your holding yard was more impressive than what we walked through at Benning. A true pleasure meeting everyone there.
Ditto - A-6-1 Sand Hill but I was an 11B. I did the opposite of PB, Infantry for 4 years and after getting tired of walking switched to Armor.
While I appreciated the guided tour of the new Infantry Museum PB gave me, I wish I had waited until the tanks got there. Big hunks of metal just...
The only reason I'm down on LMC body panels (I use lots of other parts from them) was a VERY bad experience with floor replacement panels on my last 1009. They had the general shape of the floor pans but were wrong in so many places that the shop had to cut up a large part of the old rusty...
Get it to the shop and see what they say about the quarter. If it's repairable that's better for the vehicle than replacing the panel (issues with fit/finish especially LMC product, plus the time it takes to get it done).
If you want a lighter color you might try Tan CARC (or fake CARC)...
Here Paul. I think this thread was started with you in mind:

And yes, I am taking a CUCV. And I plan on taking along most of the major parts that tend to fail (extra alt, starter, etc). And yes I have a...
Thanks Jeff.
I've already commented on the MVPA thread and linked the Facebook page to my Facebook account.
I appreciate the info and advice from others here and will let this thread return to it's previous broadcast schedule.
Sorry for the hijack Ferro.

Paul I would suggest you don't go. But unless you make it a hobby to get up every day and try to rain on someone's parade just because you can, lay off the folks that are going or would like to go.
My wife saw some information on this and told me I needed to do it. There wasn't any concern...
Sorry if this doesn't seem related but I thought it might be relevant as Ferro will be driving his 109.
Okay here's a question that I was unable to find an answer for doing a "search."
I was talking to a MVPA member last night about doing the 2012 ALCAN Highway convoy and he said I would...
That was pretty quick from End of Sale to In the Driveway. Hope you're happy with the purchase. Looks like it would make excellent storage or a great mobile hobbie room.
That's what the wife said. I reminded her that I was the comedian in the family and she shouldn't try stealing my material.
#5 on the Cutlery Roll is "Knife, Boxing." It has about a 6" blade but doesn't appear to be anything particularly special. I was just curious about the name.
Thanks Mike. I'll check out something local. I think I'll try and put together one roll in military hardware just for display purposes and look to fill our my other needs that way. Of course I'm still trying to figure out what a "boxing knife" is.
I've got a couple extra canvas cutlery rolls also. Unfortunately none of the knife sets are complete although I have 2 scimitar knives, a meat saw and a spare measuring spoon set.
I'm looking for a basting spoon and a couple of paring knives to complete 1 set for myself so if anyone has...
Ferro,
I've got 2 extra MBUv3s. Mike has a list of what I need for mine so maybe we can do a swap for some of it. The big issue is shipping them due to weight.

It's on the bottom of the rubber mat also and sure appears to be dried flour and not corrosion. Here's a before and after shot of the mat. I hit it with the scrub brush good and then a pressue washer. Most of it came off but I'm going to try and keep it wet for a while to see if it softens up...
