I was asked to get information on this bracket. The owner thought it was a WWII water can bracket but all the water cans I can locate were the normal "jerry can" style but with a "W" instead of a "G" stamped in them. Could this have been to hold one of the collapsable water buckets?
I have to concur with Pawnshop on how handy they are. My 105 is stationary (has a 600 gal diesel tank in it) but I use the jack to lift my MKT. Since the landing gear on it is screwed up the jack is the only way I can get it on the pintle.
The SF97 came Friday so I got all of my paperwork in order to title and register the MKT. I plan on registering it as a Former Military Vehicle, which in TX means $50.30 to register it for 5 years (it's a scheduled period so they pro-rate the tags meaning $20 through 2012). I get to the DMV...
I've got 4 trailers in the driveway now (101, 116, 105A3, MKT). The "Mrs" would be happier if we had fewer. She would be even happier if her truck would simply be ready to go. One of these days I'll figure out that making her happy makes everyone happy.
I'm in both the Alamo and Lonestar MVPA chapters so I'll keep your information and if anything comes up I'll let you know. Like I said, it's generally not a paying gig. Someone might want to take 2 or 3 vehicles to a show and just be looking for someone willing to drive it over. Your payment...
Not that it's a paying gig, but the Alamo MVPA is always looking for extra drivers for local events (San Antonio, Austin, surrounding areas). Most of the active members have 2 or more vehicles but only 1 driver.
What you have is a nice looking truck for a decent price. I certainly wouldn't sell mine for $3500. I've bought 8-10 (hard to remember for sure) GL deuces and drove every one of them home. Were they in as good condition as yours? No, but I only live 40 miles from the GL location I bought from...
It would be interesting to see the back and how they had the weapons mounted.
Also needs a cool name like "Teenage Mutant Ninja 915." Okay, so maybe someone else should think up the name and I'll stick to driving.
It appears that when they redid these trucks they skimped on the primer before painting. Most of that rust damage is just in the "extension" areas on the cowl and hood. While it doesn't look that serious you'd think it was avoidable.
Congratulations! It'll be nice to have a least one in the area. I'd like to take it for a spin once you get it home just to verify I want one - there's little doubt but maybe that'll help convince the wife.
I've picked up or helped pick up about 20 dueces and all had dead batts so that's not too big a deal. The tires are likely from the CTIS leaking so many would air back up as soon as the trucks were started. Still a lot of unknowns but I think $4k was reasonable for any in decent shape. If I...
You can disconnect it from the battery (as long as it's in sunshine) and put a multimeter on the connections. That'll show what it's producing. As far as telling whether or not it's surging/pulsing (which is the purpose) I couldn't say.
Big lots of 101A3s are out there right now so A1 prices are probably going to drop some. I bought mine 2 years ago and it had just been overhauled, new paint, new tires, fiberglass rails, but no top - $500. I've been seeing them for half that recently.
Yes you need a certain number of posts (5 I believe). Then go into the section you want to post in, such as vehicles, and there will be a highlighted area in the upper right that says "submit new ad."

That's the one. Guess I'm not tech savvy enough. The picture wasn't in the story and it wouldn't let me capture it off the headline page.
Nice tow bar though.
I wasn't able to save the picture (embedded or some such thing) but the Drudge Report had a shot of a couple of people sitting on top of a M88 with the pyramids in the background. If nothing else, it was an interesting photo.
