Islandguydon, Of course, got some here somewhere.. don't have a closeup though.. Had originally bought them for my Chevy k1500 but sold it.. found them and they were the perfect color flat black! Thought it would look cool so stuck them on. May do some light bondo around them so they look...
She better not look through my iphone pics.. truck.. truck.. son on truck.. truck.. airpack.. truck.. truck with snow on it.. truck with windows open.. truck...
Make sure you document all the whims/desires/buying spree's, she'll forget quickly, I would write them all down and present. Keep one big one for last so you have a card to play..:) Good luck!
Werckerman, love it.. That's why I am currently building a new kitchen.. the Deuce and the M105.. wonder what I can get when I re-do the porch and the sunroom. She'll probably call that all ONE project. As i will call the Deuce and the 105 all ONE project.. ha ha..
PS: I follow your "Rules...
Wow, this turned out to be a fun thread, thank you all for adding your own experiences/comments and thank you for commenting on how good mine looks. I only had her since November and plan on doing a really good paint/rust overhaul. Still got in my head a Gloss Black/Flat Black camo...
Love the pics thanks for sharing and posting.. I thought I would post a few of mine so far. I also posted on another thread but thought it would be good to show here too. I am catching allot of "separated" water in the plastic filters from DudaDiesel. I got from 600 down to 75 micron with the...
Phil, I found the thread if you are interested.. It was MDSA who recommended the idea to straighten with the bottle jack. Thanks Brian!
Just loosen the nuts on both ends, rotate the bend to the bottom, re-tighten the nuts, put the jack under the bend and jack it up. You may have to jack it...
Thanks guys.. at least I am not nuts by SS standards anyway.. OK.. sometimes I back out of the driveway instead of turning around.. just so I can get a few more looks in before I go to work..
So I just finished straightening out my tie rod. Was bent and took the advise on another thread to turn the bend down and jack it up with a bottle jack. It worked great, the tires were out 3/4" now down to less than 1/8".
Anyway, I was out in front looking at how the tires lined up now and...
Cool. I towed mine home with my Navigator. Pulled great but no brakes or lights.. You could probably get away without the brakes if you don't take it out often or far, however, if you plan on going long distances then definitely get the brakes set up.. It is a heavy trailer..
Cool idea, I believe a few people on here are doing or have done similar. Just curious what are you planning to tow it with. Non military? If you you'll have to re-work lights and brakes.. But sure you know all that already since you were in the Marine Corps.
Welcome!
Wow that's weird, mine just pulled apart easily. Not sure how you can pull apart without damaging anything.. Sorry for the late reply, I have been traveling for work.. Perhaps give it a tap around the edges with a rubber mallet? Probably just some gunk in there holding it all together.
Rezduce, I posted the same thing about a month or two ago, took about the same pic and got the same answer. Don't worry about it.
We should have a section in the FAQ part on this site where we can post stuff like this, I know someone like me or Rez will ask again..
Like Deuce FAQ, and then...
Did you hone the cylinders during the rebuilds? I had been loosing pressure after the airpack rebuild so I went for the MC. Once I rebuilt the MC it was perfect. If you are not loosing fluid I would suspect an internal problem in the MC. I was not loosing any fluid anywhere but was loosing...
Paramedic.. Not sure what bulbs they run but consider this.. the PIAA lights on the front of my truck were set up with 100W 12v H3 bulbs. I just switched the bulbs in them to 24V H3 75W.. No need for any conversion at all. That tip was given to me by another SS member on here.. Thanks can't...
Sure they'll let you drive it off base? Most don't have brakes. There are three stages of brakes on a Deuce: No Brakes , about to be No Brakes and just rebuilt the brakes.
I just took my Deuce on a 70 mile round trip to work yesterday.. I was happy I made it without any issues.
