Well, If I get to vote, I would like to cast it in favor of a repeat next year. Even though we had great weather Saturday, it just was not normal for this time of the year. April sounds good to me. Maybe I can be of more help getting things set up than I was this time.
Had a really good time yesterday, talking with old friends and meeting new friends. The location for such an event could not have been better. Tanks and aircraft on display at the park added an excellent back drop. It was nice and cool all day , no gnats, no sweating, and a cool breezing...
Just be aware that a mig welder of this class will not give you the penetration and weld size that a big honking mig welder will. These welders are not for thick metal so you will need to use a V groove on the two pieces of metal that are to be welded. Make multiple passes to help penetration...
Does anyone going to the Lake Blackshear need a camo net support system. each Bag contains 12 poles(fiberglass) 18 battens, 12 stakes, 6 batten/pole adapters. They make good bird house poles, flag poles, electric fence poles, target stands, range markers, brackets to mount flags in the bed...
I bought a bundle of 10 last year like the photo in post # 16,at the GA Rally. Very reasonable priced. They were OD, not tan. Can't remember right off who I got them from, but they did give me a free cap.
Working is not good for your health, unless it is fun. - then its not work. Is the tin foil to wrap yourself in while testing the microwave stuff? I can't wait to hear about this venture.
This is a easy one to fix.
Talk to your recruiter, and tell him there is a big MV rally at the lake, and it would be a great opportunity for some recruiting, public relations and a show of respect for former military personnel. Tell him you would be glad to represent him and the unit. Then...
I just want to tell you how much I appreciated your post http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?101932-mep-003a-teardown-and-refurb&highlight= . I am finishing a rebuild - refurbishing on a MEP-002 and used your posting to inspire me to do a better job in my efforts. Even though I fell way...
Thanks for all the information. I did not think that lawn and garden batteries would be enough to turn it over. The batteries I thought would be strong enough were around 90 to $100 each. thanks again'
I have a MEP-002 that I really do not want to invest in two new batteries because of limited use. What I would like to do is run a heavy duty wire from battery box to rear of the Deuce, install a connection box, construct a set of jumpers to connect the truck to the generator. 1st question is...
I may have a project for you guys to help occupy your time at the get together. I got a MEP-002 that I can't get running. I cleaned it up and tried to start it, but no go. The fuel pumps work good, but the starter and solenoid are silent. nothing- nada. I tried scratching my head for about an...
When I read your post, I said to myself "this guy went to the Cordele, GA Home Depot". then I see you are from CA not GA. and except I had 4 people that did not know. I even tried walking them through looking at competitor's paint and type in needed information. That was a wasted 80 mile round...
Our unit was a part of your unit back when it was 2nd BN HQ. I had many old friends from the HQ and OMS shop, all gone or retired by now. You probably know Freddy Johnson the supply guy. I taught him in high school, and he was in the supply section of our unit way back when.
Thanks for the...
