What would be good for lining the inside of a jerry can it was mentioned that someone used POR-15. When I Googled it there were about 8 or 10 versions. Also how do you line the inside? Do you just pore some inside and then roll the can around,, spray?
thanks
They don't work exactly like a desiccant , so I am not sure it would suck suspended water out of the oil like silica gel takes moisture out of the air.. I make sure that I tilt the barrel or can so that there is a low point, and make sure I place the sock is in this low spot. When I am not...
Did I mess something up by doing that? I hooked it up on the right rear "Emergency" coupler. I hope I did not tear something up but it puts my air gauge at 100 on my instrument panel, and I was able to hear several air leaks in different places that I fixed.
I failed to mention it in this post...
I could not afford sand blasting of my M35A2, so I used a combination of the following. Pneumatic scraper for gummy paint and under coating, Needle scaler for rust and hard to reach paint chips, wire wheels, And most of all paint removal disk. The disk look like a souped up sponge. but...
Polymer beads
The method I use to get the water out of diesel fuel, used oil and transmission fluid is to make a pouch out of cloth, place a 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of polymer beads that absorb water. You can buy them at Walmart in the craft section They are sold to place in vases to hold cut...
Could someone tell me what general area I need to look in to find a #10? hot wire located toward the rear of the vehicle. I would like to tap into it to run work lights in the rear of the truck. I found one that goes to the horn, but am hoping there is one toward the rear. Before doghead tells...
Is the The Southern Outpost Military Vehicle Winter Rally & Swap Meet,(February 8 – 10) sponsored by the First Florida Chapter MVPA, Belleview, FL worth a 4 hour trip to attend. I have heard that is good but have not seen any mention lately. Just trying to decide whether or not to go.
Thanks
Just to add to the discussion, Georgia offers many Military related license plates. Most with no additional charges. All you need is copy of DD214 and fill out a simple form. To register my deuce and Desert Storm Tag was $12.00. Older year models only require a bill of sale, no title needed...
Actually the drain valves come with a 5 foot steel wire (in a a clear plastic coating.) I have the wires routed into the cab so when I shut off the truck, I just lean over grab the wires while still seated and empty the tanks from inside the cab.
I just cut the battery cable in half. and used some old heavy duty battery lugs. Squeezed the wires into the lugs using a vise and soldered them. The disconnect have short bolts and nuts at the connect points, I then just tightened them and coated them in a rubberized electrical connection...
I have heard that, but did not want to risk it, so my 12 volt system is fully contained with positive and negative wires. I used 12 gauge underground house wiring because of the double layers of protection.
I saw a post just the other day about a SS member having his wiring cut and vehicle vandalized. The thread continued to the discussion of battery disconnects. My Deuce runs on 2 12 volt batteries in series, so I used a Harbor battery disconnect between the two batteries.
While doing that...
A guy asked me the other day when I had my M35 on display if I needed at complete M38 windshield. If interested I will get in contact with him and try to get photos and post.
I now wish that I was one of those folks that kept good records, but I am not. I am going back and try to guesstimate. I pretty much worked on it the same amount of time each day except Sundays. I will let you know when I have a rough estimate. There were a lot of hours of stripping paint...
