This! Start simple ... do you have sufficient starting capacity in the batteries? Bad connections? Cables get corroded and increase resistance. Is your rear battery getting charged? etc

CU850/B850 Radiator Specification Changes
A few things:
1. Advance also has a deal that can be used on what looks like their version of the ADPI radiator...
All good advice.
You also should not rely on one tank to verify your mileage. The average of several tankfuls will be more accurate.
FWIW, I averaged about 18+ with my M1008 before I added a Gear Vendors overdrive. That is with 33" tires. Haven't checked mileage since I added the overdrive...
All of the above are good suggestions. I have personally used the Monroe Gas-Magnum shocks on my MV's and am pleased with them (the wife is too for what it's worth). Reasonably priced on RockAuto.com and other outlets.
I wouldn't consider it so. Check the caliper for binding. If it is binding, check to see if you have a bad hose. As the hoses get old the rubber collapses internally and can restrict the pressure from returning back up the lines.
I would not recommend this. https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=hydrolock+diesel
Get a 24 mm socket and try to rotate the crankshaft by hand with the glow plugs out. Two full revolutions should work to tell you if the engine is binding or not.
After this, with the glow plugs still removed...
The socket the bulb goes into. The ground is a small tab that contacts the side of the base of the bulb on the locating tab. Somewhat easy to bend or break. They also have been known to corrode.
Check this post: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?99576-CUCV-turn-signal-stumper...
Check the parking/blinker socket on the affected side. There is a somewhat weak link in the ground contact in those sockets that can cause the symptom you described. Also double check all grounds.
Hope this helps and please report back on your results.
The -20P shows a single part number for the speedometer, no UOC's listed:
3 PAOZZ 11862 25052373 SPEEDOMETER 1
Speedo gear is definitely different due to the different final gear ratio. 4.56 vs 3.08
I have found that the bearings in the speedo head can get gummed up with time. I carefully...
Glad you found it. When I picked up my M1008 I drove it almost 1,000 miles to get it back here. On detailed inspection I found only 1/2 the requisite number of bell housing bolts holding the transmission to the engine and they were grade 3.
New straps are relatively inexpensive, between $21 and $25 on Rockauto.com. Cheap insurance to make certain that you don't leave an important piece of your truck behind you on the road.
Assuming this is an M1009 being discussed -
The tanks measure approximately:
25 Gallon - 28" x 28" x...
