No problem. The moderators can move it for you, since it has nothing to do with a deuce. That 10 ton was on ebay recently. I have checked it out in person. Not a bad deal if you want a big truck.
The more that turn their backs on the A3 the better. They are ugly, underperforming POS trucks. If everyone would just pass on these, I might get a few bought right!
RE: Re: RE: overloaded??
What trailers have the big pin? I know the M747 and M172 (reversible) have it, but does the M872? How do you pull a M872 trailer (assuming small pin) with the big pin trucks (M123, M911, M916, M984, etc.)?
Re: RE: overloaded??
I love the pic and I'm not surprised at all with the load. I think the HEMTT has the same engine/powertrain as the HET. In a pinch, it might even be able to pull 500,000#. Air brakes on the towed load would help stop it. Notice that in the pic, the rig is a 54-wheeler!
Re: RE: overloaded??
I thought the M123 was setup for to pull trailers with the large kingpin. Can it handle the smaller/regular king pin or is some sort of adapter required?
David-
Are the sideboards wood or aluminum? Do you know if those removable container locks are a commercially available item or something specific to this trailer? How the heck did you get the M816 on/off the trailer?
I am looking into getting one of the M872 trailers. Does anyone have one? They are basically a 40 foot, 34 ton flatbed trailer with triple axles. Very stout, but what else would you expect from the military? There have been several sold on GL recently and I can't remember what they have been...
I use the standard chain that came with the 5 tons. I can't verify that my setup is "appropriate" or correct, but I believe it to be adequate and safe.
RE: Can someone please help me.
You might find some answers in an old thread I started. Search for M816 vs M819 wrecker. That should answer your questions.
I called and ordered a cover from them this summer. No problems getting them on the phone, and the cover arrived in short order. It is was a smooth transaction.
