I'd think your 3500 would be up to the job. I just towed a 1009 back from LA with my F250. Man I love having a medium towbar and a large diesel truck. More like someone tailgating me than towing 5k pounds.
I've got a friend that has the 1/2t WC w/w. Would that be the same winch as the M37? He offered to sell me just the winch but I told him he should keep it and restore it. If he decides not to I might pay him for the winch but hate to see the 2 part ways.
They guys I know that do it stay with the vehicles and charge a "driver" fee. That way no one gets to drive their truck in a manner they don't approve. Heck I'll let someone paint my 1010 for free as long as it's a color of my choosing because they'll probably do a better job than me.
No idea on the movie although he said there would need to be something in the contract about them painting and then restoring the prior paint color. It sounded like they were looking for "police" type tactical vehicles.
Since there will be a contract I'm betting against the typical zombie...
I was contacted by a gentlemen searching for V100s (2 to be exact) for a movie that is going in to production the first of next year in New Orleans. I told him I'd put it out to the community and pass along any information that I could.
If anyone is interested please PM me. I have no idea...
Wish I'd had mine when we were up there. Spent too many nights camping in ID in the SUMMER freezing said parts off. I can't imagine what it's like out there with the snow you've all been getting.
Welcome to the site. I've been bidding on some stuff at Sparta but haven't won anything yet. Might have to meet up for lunch if I ever pull the trigger at the right amount.
As far as the WI laws; prior military vehicles need a LOT of maintenance so you you should be able to drive (maybe not...
As K9vic said "Welcome to the 1010 club." I drove up to look at that the day they were supposed to have the auction and they wouldn't even let me look at it as it had been "pulled" by the city. After wasting $30 in diesel to drive up and back I figured they could pi*s off as far as wasting any...
Easy enough to find out if it's pumping fuel. Disconnect the line going into the burner unit and then turn the heater on. If it's pumping it'll come out there (note it's a good way to drain your fuel tank if needed too). There are also 2 fuel filters - one at the burner unit and one on the...
This one will probably be trading or selling material. My main concern was if it would have any difficulties flat towing with a medium tow bar. My job for the next couple of days is to scrounge up 2 wheels and tires (I'm guessing there's no spare) so I can at least get it out of their lot...
I think it blends better than the 3-color woodland camo. What matters is what YOU think. If you're looking for concealment and not "restoration" then you nailed it.
Could be you're running into a guy with a minimum limits policy and they're offering you his limits less the salvage. Do you have uninsured motorist coverage on your truck? Ask them point blank if they're offering his Limits and if not ask to speak with a Property Damage Supervisor because...
It's great that you have someone with MV experience in your corner. One thing most ins co do once a suit is filed though is to stop talking to the claimant (you) so hold that for a last resort. The appraiser is probably your best route and hopefully he'll have documentation to back up a price...
Ask them for a copy of the documentation on how they reached that figure (they have to use something other than a WAG to get the amount). You can then take that and compare it to research of your own - DD's book, any similar listings in Hemming's Motor News, eBay sales, etc (you can even hire...
Not sure of the Preppers you know but most of the ones I'm familiar with believe looters are nothing but criminals. The whole meaning behind "Prepping" is to have things in order so you don't have someone resorting to looting. My friends believe in having enough put away to provide charity to...
