I agree on the skid trails for the gen and the likely unit modifications.
Nice score on the fuel can nozzles! That should help offset the price a little.
Get the correct feet and you can use my towbar any time. Now that I have a tow "vehicle" we can try some recoveries that aren't "I think (hope) I can stop with that behind me."
Plans for teardrop trailers are out there. Paint it 383 green and it's military! (better paint a white star on it too so you can say it belonged to a General). Although I'd say it'd be a fair sized teardrop on that big of a frame.
I've got the perfect 24v stove (or 2 or 11 - whatever) to go...
Another nice show with a decent turn out.
We've decided to hold the 2011 show in either April or early May. Heat and humidity is a bit much, especially for some of our WWII vets that still make it out to display their vehicles or just come to enjoy the show.
I found out the hard way that GM used metric in the CUCVs when I was sitting along side the road with no way to loosen the alt brackets to replace a busted belt. I had plenty of tools with me, just none that were metric.
Welcome from the Hill Country! Read the following thread and show up Saturday in San Antonio and you'll get to see a bunch of deuces and a couple of guys with ones for sale.

Is that like naming an old girlfriend "Gravity" since she was such a b!tch?
Was hoping to drag the M37 to the show behind the deuce but the right front brake is dragging and I don't want to try to one up Sarge by burning both a towed vehicle and a deuce to the ground.
One last reminder about Saturday's Alamo MVPA and TX Transportation Museum MV ONLY show, 9/11 from 1000-1600hrs. The event is free including admission to the museum. Hope to see you there.

Well the 2nd Annual "Fill The Deuce" Food Drive for Operation Homefront is scheduled for Oct 16th in San Antonio. Per Cyberspace_7's recommendation we are going to have TWO deuces this year but were going to go for filling both not just half of the second one.
We are looking for volunteers to...
Diito what Chief said. If he bought it through GL it'll have a SF97 from FL (Elgin AFB to be exact). He can do a "title only," no registration, but he'll have to pay taxes on it and then you get to pay taxes again when you transfer it in to your name.
FMV with no tags works great for the bigger trucks (have my deuce registered that way) but if you try driving a CUCV or similar vehicle that was also produced as a civi job you can expect to get pulled over eventually.
I was pulled over twice in my 1009 and both times showed the LEO the...
If I'd been looking at the photo on the original post I could have mentioned it but it's been 6 months or so since I did it and was just lucky to recall what section of the panel it was on.
Glad to hear everything started fine. Speddmon is the one to ask about anything generator related...
Plug where Starter Relay goes. With out the relay you can keep the set running while holding it in the start position but as soon as you release it to "Run" it'll die. I tried all of the tricks like jumping the different saftey switches before a friend pointed out that the relay was missing...
