well I got to work on the transfer case some today.. Here is what I found....
I accessed the inspection cover on top of transfer case and found out why my vent was not working.... gasket did not have a cutout in it for the vent.... once I got the gasket out of the way looked down inside as...
If you plan to burn WMO or WVO then I would suggest adding a pyro gauge. The WMO burns hotter and you could damage a turbo(if installed). Also 100% WMO is like adding a fully loaded trailer to the truck when you hit hills and such. Loose alot of power on top end. Not as noticeable when cut with...
Welcome to the site. At any rate 5 tons are harder to find with multi's in them so most wont burn any fuel. Deuces are like driving a old "big" farm truck without power steering. I drive mine daily and love it. You can get better turn radius by putting lockout hubs on the forward rear axle and...
for $800 I would buy the parts and rebuild myself. The guy here in town has the parts in stock. I could rebuild it but would it be better to try and find a fairly cheap take out?
Well talked to a guy today who said he has most of the parts to rebuild one but he could only give me a guess as to how much it would cost to rebuild. He said it could be somewhere around $500 to rebuild or more...aua..... I was liking the way the $300 take outs were looking. Anyone here got any...
Thanks guys..... so it is a new to me TC in my future! :(
My bearings are probably shot since she sounds like a blender with ice in it some of the time.
I am trying to get a guy here in town to quote me a replacement and or rebuild. I have seen them average for about $300.... just gotta get the cash and the trasmission jack and some spare time! and a buddy or three!! some strong backs and weak minds if you follow me!!:D
Well I have been nursing a transfer case leak for a couple of months and filling the fluid regularly and then it started making some noise. I have tried to look in through the fill hole but could not see anything. Well while driving home and accelerating up a hill the Hi-Lo handle pops out...
It looks like work may get me again this year. I am in Little Rock and it seems that work will keep me here this week. I was originally going to be here just thru the weekend but it is getting ugly here and it may be longer. I am going to try and make it if I get back before its over. If it is...
I am looking for a radiator for the deuce and all the seals and packings for the T-case and for the airshift and throttle hookup things that start to leak type parts.
I have the same issue. But I also have oil leaking out the seals. I have lossened the vent since it wont stay un-stuck. I have to service the case frequently to keep oil full. I have a loose speedo hook up. I have oil all over the valve on the case and oil coming out in cab. You just changed the...
I am getting some firewood this weekend. I can bring some Caution Tape if need be. I will be trying to get there before lunch on Wed. It will just be me and the boys. Wife has class on Wed. and Fri.
I would say that it is likely air. Try bleeding it right after shutting down and see if it has air in the secondaries. If so I would say your primary is sucking in some air, reseat bowl and try again... even if you have no leaks does not keep air from getting in... trust me... ask me how I know...
I have a guy I just found out can get some deuce parts and he is here in Augusta. I am gonna try and get him to come check out the Rally. Maybe he will bring some parts with him if he comes. I will let ya'll know!
I would disconnect the linkage by removing the cotter pin. Then remove the 2 nuts holding down the pedal.(under the floor) That way you can put pedal in a vise or on a solid surface and tap it out. either that or remove the forward doghouse so you have a better angle on the pedal. The pin may...
