I only installed them a few months ago. I would say I have 200 miles on the truck so far. The boots are great and I plan for them to last for a long time.

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: will non turbo multifuel accept a tu
the clean-air kit was used to upgrade NA "smoker" trucks to the forced induction system to reduce the smoke. The other parts were probably included to allow the full upgrade in the military. But, in the civilian MV world the exhaust...
RE: Re: RE: Re: will non turbo multifuel accept a turo setup
The clean-air kit includes everything to convert an NA truck to a Turbo truck except the turbo, oil lines, oil breather, and intake elbow with clamps and hose. It includes the first pipes off the back of the turbo, the flex pipe...
RE: Re: will non turbo multifuel accept a turo setup??
A clean-air kit comes with all of the exhaust and the u-pipe and couple from the turbo to the aircleaner. Extra things you need added on to houdel's list is the intake elbow off a turbo engine that bolts to the intake manifold and the...
The bell piece had a warp in it from getting stepped on when the thing came apart but i spent some time and got it looking almost perfect again. How hard is the upgrade to install? Do you know if there is a spring or something under the bell, i'd figure there would be.

Hey guy's, I'd like to get my horn working again. It's an old style and has a metal bell type piece that I think completes a cirtuit when pushed against a metal plate to fire the horns. Looks like one of the three rubber hold-downs is broke so there's no point in fixing the old style. I've seen...
Here are 2 pictures of my oil leak. I've been driving it a little more so maybe that's why it's leaking alot more. I think the time to do the heads is nearing. The oil just seems to be weeping up the block a little from the gasket because above that appears dry. What do you guy's think? Time to...
I don't see with my eye close to oil in coolant or coolant in oil. Maybe an oil analysis will back that up. There isn't any leaking from the ends of the heads, it seems to be right from the middle, so that makes me think valve covers.
I know leaks are normal but this just seems to be getting...
Hey guy's, it seems the oil leak on the side of my engine is getting worse. At first I thought it's the head gasket. If it were leaking would there be coolant in the oil for sure if the oil was leaking down the block? I'm going to get the next oil change analyzed to check for that and other...
I wouldn't expect the lucas oil stabilizer to help the pressure build up faster. What I would expect is that the oil would be less reluctant to all down into the sump leaving everything above it dry. With the plastic gears lucas puts into auto parts stores on the counter, you can see how the oil...
Do any of u guy's run lucas oil stabilizer to help the dry starts? My truck takes about 5 seconds to build the pressure up, you can hear it in the turbo when the oil starts flowing. I know alot of truckers use the lucas stuff, wandering how popular it is in the deuce.

Hey Kenny, I won't be able to make it this time around. I was looking forward to going and not only trail riding MV's but shooting too. My work schedule has not allowed me to make it on either day. I'm hoping someone will get something going on later this year and I'll do my best to making it...
I'm using Ted's zipperless boots on my truck and they're great! Remember you now have to take the axles down to the kingpin's to get the boots on, but it's well worth it. Good time to repalce any seals and regrease everything.

Do you guy's think I should replace the governor? How cheap are they? Three minutes after startup from cold the governor starts cycling away and doesn't stop. Sometimes it'll stop 15 minutes later or so, but it drives me nutty. The known leaks I'm aware of are at the front axle engagement switch...
Most non-enthuisiast deuce owners have no idea the primary filter is there. Sometimes it get's overlooked. As Bjorn said, don't be overly concerned about the muck in the bottom of the housing. My truck had the same ammount if not more. I wouldn't get concerned until the final and secondary...
I think only the drums got some water in them. I doubt the u-joints saw water or the axle vents. The water may have got up to the bottom of the knuckle boots but not by much. Think there's anything I should check?

Oh I embrace the fact I'm a crazy redneck. Last night in the middle of the downpour I was out there in my F-250 "testing the waters" before we went to dinner. And just a minute ago my grandmother wanted to check it out and I took our JD Gator down there, but didn't go much off shore with that...
Haha, the axle vents never did submerge. The water isn't any higher than in any of those pics and the water is about up to the bottom of the axle housing. I would have hit it faster but my neighbors already think I'm a crazy redneck.
