Won 2 M818s in Lansing, heading to Albany, NY

I just found a 5-ton tractor for sale with the multifuel engine, it is a 1968 and looks decent (m54a2 I think?). I have 2 problems:1. money, price is $3,900 but I might be able to get it cheaper and 2. what am I going to do with it? Is there any money to be made from it? I really want a...

    Selfridge deuces-what did you get?

You can stop by, I'm in Fenton. I'll help you in anyway that I can.

    Selfridge deuces-what did you get?

Yes, I know I still have to do that. Probably will not be able to do that until the fall when dad is less busy to give me a hand. He works for a concrete company, so summer time is busy for him.

any advantages to having a flame heater?

I am asking because it sounds like lots of different folks have leaks and things, in fact my deuce is down because the fuel nozzle assembly is leaking right onto the turbo. From what I understand it is an easy fix with a couple of o-rings, but there are fuel lines running across the top of the...

    Selfridge deuces-what did you get?

Here are some pictures of mine and my dad's truck, this is right after he picked it up. I keep telling him how much cooler my truck looks with super singles and a winch (and faster to boot!)

    Extreme Expedition Vehicle

I really want an explaination about your door window frames, is the glass been made smaller or do these work with the original glass? I bet if you made these up as "kits" some folks might buy them. They look really cool!

    Lansing MI M818

I really think GL knows which ones run and which ones don't and which ones will start without a jump because here they where using yours and in PA Mike jumped in a truck, started it up and drove around to slave mine. I'm sure this sort of thing happens all over the place. Whether it is right...

Won 2 M818s in Lansing, heading to Albany, NY

Joe is writing all buyers names across purchased items now in grease pens. My truck had my name on it and both my trailers today...so I'm guessing that dealer just bought the trucks through auction.

    Lansing MI 8/27

Good clean, successful recovery of my dad's 2 trailers. They sure have a lot of equipment there and a guy was turning in a sweet humvee that I said I wanted, he said he doesn't like it and I could have it. Lots of nice hemtts and fmtv's uparmored and a ton of S-250 shelters. Of course, no...

Won 2 M818s in Lansing, heading to Albany, NY

glenn, your one truck looks really nice like the others, it did not quite start though. Just not enough juice to get it to totally roll over. The other truck I could not find, they did have another row of trucks that was 3 deep and 20 or so long; but with my wife and kids with me we didn't...

    Lansing MI M818

It is a sweet looking truck! Has some kind of foam insulation on the floor and firewall, and I know it runs good because they were using it to move around some trailers a guy was picking up! Whatever further help you need between me and Mikeroot and 13mike we should be able to recover and...

dozer, what exactly are the tight restrictions on historical plates? I treat my deuce just like every other guy here in town and all over the state treats their covettes and hot rods. Drive to get ice cream occassionally, to parades, cruising around...I am not using it to make money...it is...

    Selfridge deuces-what did you get?

we were on I75 north, but Bob must have been quit far behind us with his 2 trucks on the step deck. These trucks are pretty simple recoveries because they were previewed...check fluids, jump start, check lights and brake function and then drive home!

I'll be going there tomorrow, I'll check it out for you. I know someone who might be interested in driving it out to your place too. I'll check.

    Selfridge deuces-what did you get?

Bob, thanks for letting us use your air hose, we got home all safe and sound. My dad is pretty pumped, another one is hooked! We were waiting and watching for you guys to pass us on 75 north in the "fast" semi truck.

Bob is right about the insurance, let them see the thing and let them know how much it weighs. I told the lady at the SOS how much the truck weighs and that is when she freaked out. I also told her that the military builds everything extra heavy duty and when she kept insisting that it was a...

ID this thingy... I think it is part of the flame heater

The part in your second picture is leaking on my truck, right out of the end of it and yes it is dripping right on my turbo. I had to turn around today and drive home. How would one go about fixing this part? I read something about replacing an o-ring in another thread (but there was no...

    Selfridge deuces-what did you get?

We saw you driving in then (in the tan deuce) while we were driving out. A lot of recoveries happened today and yesterday. Joe said someone drove out 11 yesterday! They must have had 11 guys riding in the back!

Need Help from fellow MI Members!

I have an authentic historic plate from 1952 and my truck is titled as a Studebaker. The plate was free (from my uncle) and the registration fee was $35 for lifetime. The law states not to be used for routine transportation only for parades and club activities...I am not hauling firewood or...
