A locker and lockouts on the front is a great idea. The spool idea for the front really has only one real drawback; there will be loads on the hubs that will make unlocking them possibly quite a chore. I don't think my Selectros would let me turn the knob and unlock the hub if there was a load...
Excellent! It's set up like the 20,000lb Garwood I have on the front of mine! Oh, if mine looks different on the pinion side its because I pulled the brake hardware off so I could nest the bumper in closer. I also put the bearing plate in my lathe and turned the brake housing off of it to...
Wolf.Dose, Forest Mog is looking for the belt driven pump under the engine for the hydraulic system. I think his steering is okay. I'm saying this because his first picture shows the WABCO or Westinghouse hydraulic valve above the steering column beside the air filter.
He's pretty sure it '88-'96 6.2 & 6.5 so I guess the short injectors.
This is not a part that can be taken to a local garage. Remember the guy months ago in Russia looking for an exhaust valve? I got him that valve and the engine is back together but I guess has a couple of injector lines...
Apparently this is leaking at the ferule nut. I received this picture and he thinks these may be cracks in the ferule. Any 6.2 experts have thoughts on this? Also, if it is cracked, anyone have any spare injector lines around?
1988-1996 6.2 - 6.5 is what a diesel parts page is saying injector...
Good choice on NOT wanting the V-belt versions. Pretty amusing actually, the they factory designed a belt stretcher on that engine as you have the same size crank pulley with a couple grooves in it, then two different size pulleys on the water pump...being driven from the crank pulley! Hello...
In the pic it almost looks as if the brake housing is just visable on the left side as we're looking at it, under the roller. Yes, it would need a chain drive to cross from the stock deuce pto in that case.
Keep in mind however they did make these 20K Garwoods in a driver's side...
That's a nice 20K Garwood! I have one on the nose of my deuce but used one without the level wind and pulled the heavy roller fairlead(s) off as well. It's a lot of extra unneeded weight when the front ends are already on the heavy side for the tires on them. I have the full level wind and...
The little crane on the back was something my dad had built long time ago and made up a mount for on his old classic. When I purchased the 10K Garwood I knew I was picking it up with the Mog and didn't want the hassle of trying to heft it up onto the bed. I took a couple days and made a heavy...
I have Dyna Bead (I think that's what it is...) ceramic beads in my stupid expensive XM-47's on the Unimog. I think their website sized it to around 20oz per tire. Wasn't cheap, but considering Michelin wants a King's ransom for these tires and a deal on them new is anything under $1,100 per...
