Hello,
I would definately go for the 1986 M1009 blazer for $3200.00..
It is in better shape, and you get extras thrown in (oil, filtration, tires, rims, etc..)
So it's a great bargain of a deal too..
I have a 1985 M1009 blazer, and I very much like it, it is just what I need these days.
I...
Hello Guys,
Thanks for all the comments, especially about having trucks that do the same thing,
and that they are in good shape too.
It is something I will have to learn to live with, and the guy that did the inspection
said I just need to let it warm up for a few when I do a cold start...
re; Mother and child killed by military truck
I agree with you completely, I just saw the video and read the story.
It was NOT the fault of the military driver, or any fault with the military truck.
It was the driver of the Blazer that killed them, he pushed them into
the path of the...
Hi All,
I just got my M1009's brakes inspected at a reputable shop in my area.
They said there is nothing wrong other than a little wear, so I am good.
He did say that they were a little dry and could be lubricated, and that
could be a contributing factor to the grabby brakes.
So I am...
re: Political messages on your MV
Zout,
That round decal/home depot idea is hilarious, I would love to see that for myself. I would proabably die laughing. LOL
I would like to paint mine the appropriate color of green,
so when I can afford to, I plan to CARC it green.
Good night,
CJ
Cucvfreek,
I would not think so, I used to work on my own cars when I was in my 20's. (I am 43 years old now...)
Please just tell me which TM # do I read to learn how to do the brake job?
If all else fails, I know a man that I can trust, that does brake jobs in his garage (he has been...
re; M1009 Brake question
Hello 2deuce,
I checked my PS level, it is full and fine.
No, I do not feel any vibration in the pedal.
It turns just fine when cold.
I went outside to check all my fluid levels, they are all just fine.
While I was doing that, a new neighbor walked over and...
Regulator,
By the way, did you put the two new calipers on the front or rear end?
And which vehicle did you put them on? (an M1009?)
Thank you, have a good day,
CJ
Hello,
It happens only when the engine is cold. Regardless of the time of day.
I have not checked for dew.
I will look into it asap. For now, I am letting it warm up a few before driving off,
to lessen that problem.
Pulling off the wheels may be a problem, I do not have a jack for my...
Hi all,
I have a question regarding the brakes in my M1009.
When the brakes are cold, like after just starting it.
They are very grabby, so sometimes that makes me uninterntionally stop short.
But once the engine warms up, the brakes work just fine.
Is that normal for them to be grabby...
Hi all,
Do they make a fording kit for the M1009?
And if so...
Who does? (company name, number, website...)
Any information would be helpful.
Thank you,
CJ
Hello Carnac,
Thank you for the message and information.
I will take apart the dash next, and try to find out what is wrong.
In the mean time, I will look into LMC online for a fuel gauge.
Unless someone pops up and says they have one.
Thank you, Have a good night,
CJ
Hi All,
I have a 1985 M1009 CUCV Blazer with a 6.2L Diesel V8 engine, all stock, no mods.
What is the best or least complicated way of figuring out the mileage for my particular
vehicle?
The fuel gauge does not work at this time, so that does not help.
Any help would be appreciated...
Hi all, & Blitz,
I read the TM for the M1009, and it said to disconnect the sending unit ground from frame,
turn key to run and see what happens.
I did that, and the gauge still read empty, and the TM says that means I need to replace the fuel gauge.
Anyone know where I can find one that...
Hello Rebel,
I would help you with the pickup in Atlanta.
But I do not know how to drive a manual transmission.
Once I learn though, and how to drive a deuce,
I would be glad to help anyone here with pickups in the Atlanta, Ga. area.
Good luck, have a good day,
CJ
Hi all,
Thank you for the replies to my question.
I do not think the M1009 is secure either, since everyone that has a CUCV has a key to mine, and I have a key to theirs, since we all have the same key.
That is why I was asking about a key lock for the gun rack.
So IF I ever had to, (for...
Darnit,
Those parts sound cool!
And all I got on the tranny hump between the seats is a plain old boring console,
with a locking box and cup holders, oh well, it is useful at least.
What did the military really have there? I am curious too.
Since I have a 1985 M1009 too...
Good night,
CJ
Hi all,
Is it possible to get some form of lock (with a key),
for the M1009 rifle rack that is behind the driver's seat?
So that way I can lock my rifle into it, when I need it there.
Any information would be appreciated, thank you,
CJ
