Where abouts in DE do you live Kevin? I'm up in hockessin, shoot me a PM if you want to take a look at my truck and see what you're getting into :D welcome to the addiction
My truck never got up to temp from the time I bought it until I was given a winter front, so it deffinatly helps it warm up :D and I honestly like the way it looks, though I need to replace the plexiglass, it still had the original papers taped to it, and the glass is a bit cloudy, but nothing...
I've heard talk that the racks are quite expensive, about 1k it seems, I'm not all that big a guy (135-150lbs depending on the month, lol) so I'm going the grow popeye arms/ 1st gear low assisted steering, lol.
But seriously, using low 1st and reverse makes tight turns pretty easy, idk if it's...
Well, keep in mind, you could always just hook a car/truck (the latter being preffered) up to one battery for 10 minutes, then repeat with the other, I've done it before when I was trying to start the deuce with an inoperable lift pump
Yup, had it about a month. Lol, great truck, it's just impact damage an be a b!tch.... I did mention the only thing that hit the gaurdrail was the driverside tire right? I'll be doing allot of inspecting before going anywhere, one tire/axle taking all the momentum of ~14k lbs and stopping it...
Well since it's only the front perch, it shifted backward only about 2? Inches, how ever far the dogbone on the rear front shackel allows it to move, I did notice the Tcase shifter seemed a bit sticky, but it normally does when it's cold, it didnt seem like much changed
So far we haven't hit negative numbers in DE....yet....
BUT, I've only ever had one time where the deuce didn't light off on the first try, and it was 19 degrees. Not to shabby when before this winter, the truck hasn't been driven for a long while till I got it :D
No, it shifted rearward, although after thinking it over, I'm wondering if it actually happened when I attempted to move the truck in reverse under it's own power, all it did was cock the tires worse by a degree or two, and I think i felt it shift but didn't hear a noise due to my ear plugs. So...
Well things are worse then I thought, I just did some more looking in daylight to see how bad things are, and I found out the passenger front spring perch sheared all three rivets/bolts that hold it in place...... Not sure what I'm going to do now, the truck us sitting on a muddy downhill slope...
I'll probly just replace the whole box seeing as George is giving me a take off from one of his (I'm assuming parts) trucks. Either way I'm assuming the whole thing has to come out but I may be wrong there. As long as he doesn't want my old one, I'll keep it for parts and personal edumacation...
Thanks guys, lifting the engine probly isn't an option for me as the wrecker had to plop the deuce at the bottom of the hill in my yard as my driveway is one heck of a grade, 250 up, and I live on a narrow road, the 50-75 foot deuce+wrecker combo wasn't making that, barely managed to make it on...
Crap, lol, looks like I'll have George help me pull the one he's giving me to learn it then do mine when I get back, was hoping to get it out easy, didn't look like it was tht bad :(
Well it's time to replace my deuces steering box, hit another patch of ice the other day, counter steered and hit a guardrail with the driver tire and sheared the output shaft from the steering box off about an inch from the frame. Only damage was the guardrail and steering box, the tire (only...
