Yea....Yea...try and share the blame! :P
Seriously, very nice truck....more likely to be a positive experience when you start with such a nice piece of equipment....
Talking about bringing back memories....
Ever drive the deuce through a town and see some fellas swing around just as soon as they hear you comin'? You can tell the vets verses civilians....almost like a flashback on the street.....
Once you have spent several days riding in the back.....that...
Does Joe still hang here?
Yea Ole Joe could be a salty cuss but after he finished telling you how bad you screwed up a repair he was just as likely to pick up a wrench and fix it for you or spend 1/2 hour on the phone talking you thru it....
I kept an old jeep on the road for a long time using this procedure.
However, you still have air getting in the lines, so this won't fix the problem...just diagnose it...
Are you bleeding it with someone pressing the pedal?
When you bled it and it improved then it sounded like an air in the lines problem. Before making adjustments or rebuilds, I would bleed the brakes the old fashioned way first: Get on the bleed valve and have a person press the pedal; before...
As a side note: We lost a good source of quality trucks when Joe retired. Drove from GA to NJ to buy one from him. It was exactly as described.... Joe is responsible for alot of good trucks going into civilian service....
Re: RE: Re: RE: lockout hubs all around...?
Wouldn't a selectable air locker accomplish the same thing? Probably not much more expensive then a detroit if you factor in the cost of an additional splined axle and hub :?
Oh how soon they forget :( Bruce, I bought your truck from our buddy Joe and yes the HEMTT Crane. Also have the remote control.
Not interested in the wrecker but may be interested in selling the crane. I actually ended up buying a larger commercial cranetruck for my timberframe business.
It is interesting to think about shortening a deuce for muddin' probably be easier than bobbed.
Cut the frame.. shorten drive shaft...would probably change the angle on drive shaft...wonder how it would handle? Anybody done this mod?
Thoughts?
Gotcha. I now know what you are referring to
I am not in any way a diesel mechanic....What does the flame heater do and how would I check it for the problem?
