Really matters what you are looking for; Are you going to pull it behind a deuce? If not, then I think there would be better choices in the civilly market for modification: a better ride(for the dogs), cheaper to modify, and not as heavy to pull.

Well BFR....I don't want to tell you what to do.....but.....since we live in the same area.....let me know when you are planning to be on the road........
Don't want to start a flame war; but I don't have any problems with retread on the rear. Most over the road rigs run retreads. These tires got a bad reputation back when it was deserved, but new techniques have made them very dependable. IMHO.
Hey Recovery, great tips.. Just one question...If you turn off your power switch doesn't the fuel tank pump stop running? How long will the truck run before it need a prime from the fuel tank? Just curious...
Thanks so much guys! I will check the fuel lines, connections, etc. for leaks..
She runs up great and seems to have plenty of power.
I will let you know what I discover....
Hey Guys: We discussed this problem once before, but still:
Deuce will not idle under 1200 rpms. I have to set the throttle at least that high to keep it running. Per your suggestions: New fuel filters(others where almost new, but changed out just in case) and ran some injector cleaner thru...
"but I think the knock went away when the air compresser was pumping..." Find this to be strange....
I agree with bomar's suggestion. My compressor makes a noise exactly like an engine knock....
Well, I don't pretend to speak for anyone but myself; however, I think the appreciation for MV's is what qualifies one for membership here. Some members have sold their only MV and stayed in touch; others are still looking and learning....
I hang out here because: I love my MV, I depend on...
Recovery, I totally agree and don't know who is buying these trucks...
I bid on the most expensive one at Ft. Gillem but quit at $3k.
The one that sold for $1300.00+ was even too expensive for me in it's condition...
I can't seem to forget the good old days when $2k would get you the pick of...
Went back and looked on other threads....think I see my mistake...
I was following postings on 11:00-20:00 michelin XL's. 395/85R20 XML's are a totally different tire.
Anybody want to buy 6 michelin 395/85R20's?
I had thought some members had used these tires with dual setup. I must be mistaken.
I was planning to use the stock rims....
So if I can get the tires for the weight; what about 4 rims instead of 8 carrying the same weight?
I really appreciate your help..

I put my pedal to the floor to start but then pull back to an idle until the oil pressure builds up. Don't think I would want to have the throttle cable way out and the rpms screaming without sufficient oil pressure.
