A bientot.
Stan in Canada.
Now you can excuse my french, as I have not used it in a long time!
From what I can see, you now have a better than original truck. I wish that you built the trucks that we had to wrangle. you have a VERY Cool chunk of Iron there.... Job well done!
Nice truck! When I wore green, that was always a favorite truck to get. We were stuck with Iltis's or MLVW's. If you were in command, an ML was not tasked to you personally. Our "Jeep Substitute" (Iltis) looked good, but was not tactically usefull. You know which other truck we ususally had...
Up here, if a vehicle has not been registered or insured for 12 years, as long as you have a bill of sale, you can apply for a lost title. The cost is minimal, it just takes a few months to run through the Bereau crabs.
Save that thing!
I would highly NOT recommend converting the entire truck to 12V. I have seen this happen too many times before, and when something goes wrong, only the guy who did the conversion, knows what exactly was done. Usually all of the 12V crap gets ripped out and the truck either gets restored to 24V...
Try Alfa Heaven. The should have NOS for that.
If not, I know of a 135 that is being parted out in Vernon B.C.
the other alternative is to have the unit rebuilt.
PM me if required, and I'll try to lookup the ad for the donor truck.
Sense is NOT common. If you get lucky enough to get a new find, please take the time to get it off site, and preform a very detailed pretrip inspection. If anything fails, store it or have it hauled. Tow bar it if feasible.
Remember, you just threw a good chunk of you bank account at a dream...
