    HMMWV 6.2L vs CUCV M108 6.2L

Hi Bruce, I'm sure the experts will chime in soon, but from what I remember, the engine and trans are the same, transfer case is different. The IP on the HMMWV is different, but similar and if I recall correctly, it's turned up a little bit more than the CUCV one. Also, the glow plugs on the...

    CUCV HELP

RE: Re: CUCV HELP Maybe give this outfit a look: http://www.nationwidetransmissions.com/ (Phone: (505)341-9113) I checked them out on google and they seem to get good ratings from customers, and I'd be really surprised if they couldn't handle it. Maybe just tell them it's a K5 Blazer with a...

    Military Fire Trucks

Hi Mike, I'll take a crack at this for you. The pump on mine is a John Bean Royal 55, and it's a 3 piston high pressure unit. It's rated at 60gpm max capacity, and 700psi max. These trucks were made to spray a high pressure fog at low volume. Hope that helps.

    Hydroboost Swap

Hi Gang, Question for those of you that have gone through this before: Is it possible (worth the effort) to swap out the hydroboost and not open up the brake system? That is, can I leave the brake lines attached to the master cylinder and not have to rebleed the system and still be able to...

    Starting below 0 degrees?

Yup, that's correct Armada. The kit includes 2 insulated battery boxes that are plumbed (air ducts) to the passenger side heater. The batts are much smaller than the 6TLs. Also, that heater is ducted down to the bottom of the oil pan on the engine and transmission. Both have an air chamber...

    Starting below 0 degrees?

This is what the complete and plumbed arctic kit looks like from the engine compartment. According to the TM, it's good to -40F!

    WWII IH???

Yup... that looks to be an IHC M-5-6 deuce and a half. Not a lot of those around anymore... compared to CCKWs and such.

    Selling my arctic M1009

Hi Guys, I had a deal fall through, so my CUCV is still available. I've lowered the price a bit too. More pics on request. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=PN_zClassifieds&file=detail&cat=5&de=659

Why no section for all the International (IH) trucks?

I assure you Mike, my WWII IH most certainly does NOT float! Shoot, just the lug nuts weigh like 50 pounds each...

    Lowes paint match

I did the same thing with my troop seats when I replaced all the wood. I painted the metal uprights with Aervoe and did the ol' color match at Home Depot. I thought the match was as close to perfect as it could get. I applied a primer to the wood, and used a small roller to put the paint on...

    Roof rack

Yeah, I remember mine was a bit loose too. I wound up attaching some rubber "shims" where the bar met the pin bracket, as well as putting a little stronger spring on the release latch so that it would be more inclined to stay put when bouncing around.

    Roof rack

Armada, I had one on my civvy K5. It was not a GM unit, rather it was aftermarket. On mine, When closed, the rack attached at the hinge points on the corner, top and bottom (brackets bolted into the body above and below the RH taillight), and then had a catch that was bolted to the tailgate...

Hummer Wheels on My M1008! PERFECT!

Correct. The manual does say to use chalk. I found that just painting over it works best. I had a spot that didn't get covered all the way, and I found the chalk doesn't want to wash off very well. So another shot from the rattle can, and it's all good.

Hummer Wheels on My M1008! PERFECT!

For the camo outline on my M151A2, I used regular chalkboard chalk, and then overlapped the lines just enough to make them disappear.
