    Smoke after glowplug swap

I say its a GOOD modification but not a Must. But thats the first thing I did when I got my M1009. I bypassed the resistor bank with a direct 12v feed from the front battery and installed new AC-60 GPs the added a manual push button for back up. No worries and works great.

If you could have only one CUCV...

If I could only have one CUCV (Which is about all my wife will allow ) I would keep my M1009. I only use it for cruising around and light trail use. Its not my DD. With my M101A2 attached every now and then it works well for for carry extra gear( fourwheeler-light cargo) If I was...

    It's TURBO TIME!!!

Good luck with your Turbo. My first CUCV had a turbo on it my M1009 does not. I miss the extra power. My buddy went to the junk yard and picked up 2- complete GM-4 6.5L turbos intake and all parts for next to nothing. He installed it on the M1008 that I bought from him later on. He removed...

How to know if my 6.2l is running as it should

Mine starts and gets up to hwy speeds (65mph) so I guess thats good enough. For sure not a power house but gets the job done. I never hot rod it and keep it well maintained. I always think the same thing thats somethings not at a 100%. It will barely climb up a bridge :?

    M1009 off road

I got bogged on my lease this year in 3 inches of mud and had to be pulled out. Very embarrassing. I coulded even dig my self out. It was operator error. But plan on getting some 33s. Running stock wrangler 31s now with a 2.5 lift. Agreed I took mine on the beach a few times and had fun. Not...

    exhaust

I running 2- cherrybomb glasspacks on my M1009. Its not real bad when your cruising around but speeds over 55mph seem to be annoying and during quick take offs. I will cont. to run them for a while but I would prefer a regular muffler. You can find cheap mufflers for the price of a...

Warm up time?...First start of morning...

30- min to 1hr I dont think thats a problem. When I was in the sevice we had a HMMVEE with a 6.2 we let idle for days as needed. Im not saying thats a good idea though. My M1009 is not a daily driver so when I use it Im not in a rush and let it warm up to full operating Temp. 10 mins. I have a...

    Help withInterior prep for Herculiner

It was the 1-gal kit and I was able to put 2-thick coats on the floor an side walls. It was JUST enough. NO diluting. I bought a extra pint but did not need it so I will use that on the floor only on my M101A2. I had some thick roofing tar on the floor under the rear seat on mine thats what...
