Well just got my stereo installed and a center console. the box on the right is a Punch 8" sub
and the center console it just used as a arm rest and to hold 2-5.25" and 2-6.5" speakers and it sounds pretty good.
I was atempting to install a mech. oil presure gauge but could not get the oil sending unit off so i guess i need to buy that special socket. Then i read this thread and noticied the valve by the radiater so i was going to do that. But theres no valve on my M1009 so i looked on my M1008 and...
Ok guys just got home from 2 months offshore and picked up my M1009 a week ago. I went to pick it up and checked all the fluids and threw in 2 fresh charged Batts. and drove it home 50 miles. When i got home i changed the fuel filter, cleaned out the fuel return valve and CDR valve, installed...

Thats a good idea if you dont want to kill your starter are Batt. and dont have other means of...
I plan on running a 4-Ga. wire from the front batt+ to a juntion box on the fire wall in the engine bay driver side. Then redo my glowplug resister bypass from there and run a 8-Ga. from the junction box on the firewall to a new fuse bank mounted by the E-brake and run all my 12V circuits from...

You should be able to put some kind of cap on it expecially if you keep your receipts. i would like to get my m1009 insured for $5K and pay a monthy bill.
I did that for my 2009 HD street glide its insured for $32K. Now im paying liablity on my M1008 its around $30 a month Good luck
First do a advance search on this problem then check this link for the TM-20/34
In the meantime check out the glowplug relay see if you have power on the top lug then see if you have pover at the pink wire on the injection pump with the key on. then go from there.

Nice truck. The interior looks very good. dont know why you want to change it to 12Volt the 24 system isnt that hard after doing some research and using the TMs. is that 33" tires?
I have the AC-60G in my truck with the resister bypassed and a manual push button as a backup that i have never used. I have no problems im still using the control card and they cycle very good. the truck starts the first time every time. before i had the 13G in the truck and it would take 2...

I had rhino in my old truck that was about $500
nice truck good luck
I think route 66 would be cool and probaly better. Going to N.O. i would just take I-10E Then 55N
I-10E all the way through Texas to N.O. would be grueling but bound to find some good stops.
Thanks for the info guys. Ive also seen alot of threads on this and plan on doing all the servicing from the TM12 before i hit the road in my new M1009.
SJ.
Thats what im thinking. I had 2 -6.5" and 1-8" sub in my M1008 and i took it out after a week. All I heard was the engine noise and alot of rattling. I will attept to reinstall this setup in my new M1009. I ran a new 4 Ga. wire from the Front batt. To a new 12volt juntion box and ran all...

I just went to walmart and bought 2 batteries 850 CCA for $70 each seems to get the job done.
I love optima batteries but didnt feel the need to spend a lot for this application.

Then i drove around for a few days and when it died the light never shut off so i went back to...
