Awesome:
I had a 63 Dodge Dart Slant Six 170 three on the tree that had over 300K on it when I drove it to the junk yard. The sheet metal was still solid and the motor still purred. I should have mothballed that car it was a great ride.
I am sure your dad will love it. Some picts of the...
RE: Re: RE: Pics today...
I got my M127 with sideboards for $400.00 in New Jersey it is amazing and right now is built up to store tools and equipment while I am deployed. They just look so right behind an M 818.
It sure was nice rolling through Georgia in the M 818 late at night I wish I could have planned more time to stop at some of the Georgia Gentlemen's homes but wifey was calling and we had to roll on. One of these days I will be headed down for a Georgia rally just not sure which year..
Great Story and by far the biggest challenge yet of any of the Steel Soldiers that I know of. I really like what you have done to preserve the wonderful equipment of the WW II days hats off to you.
Well at least you will be looking more like a Soldier than a Gypsy...lol Are you bringing to duece to haul it that would be quite a task for the M1009.
Chris:
You will have a blast there and unfortunately I will still be here in Korea but there are so many folks at Aberdeen each year you can...
Thanks Mike you are the best. Are you going to look like a gypsy going home like you did headed out of the meet in PA? I thought that was classic with all those plastic tanks on your load I bet you got a lot of looks. I know the boys will be bringing the M52 to pass on to the new owner and...
Thanks for helping him out and passing on the information about Steel Soldiers. I would have joined years earlier if I had known about it. If he has the same issue as my M818 he should try to drive all the way home in the daylight since my alternator is not making enough juice to charge the...
Are we in the same area we were in last year? Just trying to guide my boys as they head out. I challenged them to get there on either Thursday afternoon or Friday morning but the reality is they may show up late Friday. I still would like to see where they will be setting up.
Thanks
RE: Re: RE: Rally Pictures - AR OK MO TX KS D-DAY Spring 200
Very Cool:
I think I would spend that much in diesel in a heartbeat to attend problem is it is about 1,500 miles from my place perhaps I could jump in like the Rangers, 82nd and 101st did on D-day.
Wow Great to see her pulling her weight around and helping even after many years of serving the Army. I only hope to be so productiv when I finally get around to retiring.
Thanks for posting the great pictures any more would be great to see too.
Funny that is not what the GL picts looked like....
Maybe this much more green will off set the ugly blue tractor at home...
Get an engine in a can from GL, new tires from Goodyear, cab from Murrays, Axle from Eastern,.....
Please be careful don't scratch the paint on the trailer....
Mike Calling Mike! I know you are busy and have lots to do but I need to tell the boys about it and I am a little too far to show them so could you please post the layout like you did last year?
Chris, I am sorry you had to sell your M818 I missed that wow what a loss. I am hoping the boys...
I find that communication is the key, get the cell phone number of the GL guy that runs the yard and issues the vehicles to you. Call him or her and make it friendly. They have bent over backward for me and many of my pick ups were way over 14 days they were glad that I could adjust to their...
RE: Up Armored FMTV
I know the tractor in the last picture is restricted from going more than five miles and hour without a trailer attached because they have flipped up on the nose with a even a moderate braking. We build several baskets of plate steel with a king pin in the center that they...
