    Alternator belts squeeling

This works, too. Put some household cleanser (powder form such as Comet or Ajax) on the belts. I have done it VERY CAUTIOUSLY with the engine running. Put the cleanser in a baggie, trim off one of the corners. Be aware of where the fan is blowing so you don't get a face full. Let the cleanser...

    CUCV Trailer Wiring

I bought the "T" system, and it is NOT plug and play like I hoped it would be. I have installed them many times before, but the CUCV wiring is a totally different animal. I, too, am looking for a reasonable remedy. If I can't find anything, I will just have to hack into the taillight wires.

    2009 GA Rally-trader on line

Kenny- sounds like some people might be doing more work than play. We just did an "Extreme Home Makeover" tv shoot. I would like to see an Extreme MV makeover done in a weekend.

why is my steering wheel all sticky

I suggest using a non-solvent cleaner, such as Simple Green, or even a solution of trisodiumphosphate (TSP). That will remove any grease/grime and not harm the wheel. If it is stock, I also have one in the garage that I could send if you cover the shipping.

M1009 Top Removal - Would it work?

Jordo- make SURE you have all of the bolts out. Check under the rails. Then get in and put your back against the top and lift. If it hasn't been off for awhile (or ever), it is likely stuck tight. When I took mine off for the first time, it didn't want to budge at first. Take your time and try...

M1009 Top Removal - Would it work?

I also wanted to be able to remove/install my top without relying on anyone else. I already had the lumber, 2x4's and solid hardwood 5x5's (that ductile water main is delivered to my jobsites with). I dug holes and sunk the posts 18" in the ground. Made sure they were wide enough to fit the 1009...

    Contact Maintenance Deuce?

Kenny- that would look great. You should go for it. Any chance you could photoshop a pic? Furthermore, just because someone can't identify a modified vehicle doesn't constitute a crisis. The military made it as they saw fit. There is nothing wrong with making it better. I hope I don't need...

    bikini top

For roll cages, S & W Racecars in Pennsylvania makes a "family cage option". I have a S&W 6 point cage in my 1009, and will soon add the family cage option. When I installed the cage, the rear seat had to be removed. As soon as I can get the other bars in, I can re-install my back seat. I too am...

how much to lift you m1008

Less than a week after I started driving my 1009, I spent almost twice the purchase price on add-ons and mods. And I am not even close to being done yet. Most of the major items are done, but there are more in the works.

    cucv stereos

The center hole is deifintely an issue. I saw the 2 knob setup and thought it would fit. Upon further review, probably not, at least not without some cutting. My next option will be to mount a unit on the cage. At least that way it stand a better chance of staying dry. I am leaning towards some...

    M1009 Pics!

Looks like great articulation with the front sway bar removed. How are the road manners? When I lifted mine, I forgot to order the drop brackets for the bar. It drove ok, but is far better with the bar installed. I think a quick disconnect would be the best of both worlds.
