I have the 1997 first gen M1078 and have the heater console out to repair some air lines and wiper arm behind it. I noticed that there are two unused plugs behind there labeled P912 and J913. I can't find these in my books as to what they would be for. Maybe the winch control options or the more...
I would ask if you checked the starter mounting bolts/ I have heard that they can work loose. I would look at all the items that are mounted to the engine to see it any of them are shifting or moving while starting the engine. I know that my air pump bolt was loose that holds the drive gear on...
I was just looking at these Medium tow bars and just got off the Phone with IBIS TEK. Asked her for the right adapter to connect to my LMTV as the pins that are with it are to large. Quote "These are not to be used on the FMTV trucks. It is not sold with the adapters to hook to the FMTV because...
Should have added that I forwarded these picks to them also. They just didn't reply to me about them. Guess my business was not worth their efforts. As for $600.00, I bought mine from eastern for under $300. Still to much I think. I hope it is ok to use there name on here. Would think it is ok...
Here is what I have. I tried every number that is on the bag/bands. I didn't open it up to see if there was numbers on the shock obviously. But didn't see anything on the old shock either.
I purchased mine from eastern also. I had to buy the whole thing and then disassemble and place the bag unit in my original housing. It was very easy. I took the info from the new bag and contacted firestone, they were absolute useless. Even giving them the numbers on the new unit. Mine leaked...
This is what my Guard mechanic told me it was for also. It removes a large amount of dust and debris to help keep the air filter cleaner longer. I looked into it because I cut, turned, and moved my exhaust tip further to the rear to make room for my generator mounting.
It is overall an easy to drive truck. Yes you need to account for many things as it isn't a car. But my Girlfriend drives it often on and offroad and she loves it. Turning with two fingers, no clutch, doesn't get much better then that.
My truck is a 97. I can't speak for all of them. And I have heard that some are 24 volt lighting. But can conferm, my 97 is 12 for everything except starting circuit and dual output alternator.
They are 6v and there is 4. Under the battery tray cover is a fantastic sticker showing the layout and all of the connections. on my truck, the front are linked to be 12v to power the trucks systems. The rear two are tied to the front two to generate 24v for the engine starter.
Welcome to the disease. I hope you get there and it's in great shape. I had some repairs to make on mine but it has been a great truck and has taken me on some amazing adventures so far. Hope yours does the same for you!
Thank you all for the input! Yet I will ground the truck to earth since I rides on high rubber. Lol. Was hoping that it wasn't a deep dark mystery ground somewhere. I had a class A coach that was hooked to 115v that has a ground and as I pulled in a wrench it was also electrocuting me. Wasn't...
