    My truck shocked me!!

Hey Guys, So I was working on my truck and as I was pulling on my wrenches I felt a poke or pinch on the back of my arm where it was touching metal. I thought that maybe it was just a sharp piece of metal but it wasn't. So what would cause this? never had this problem before. I added winches to...

    M1078/M1079 for overland camper?

Randy, I tested the chassis flex on my truck personally with the bed on and off. I also talked to the drivers of these trucks at our base (NSW). They stated that these trucks don't have much flex if any. I tend to agree. I build off road race cars/trucks/rock crawlers, and obviously FMTV's are...

    M1078/M1079 for overland camper?

Post edited I just finished registering mine here in California and picked up the plates today. Here was my process. Keping in mind that it may be different in other states. 1. Built the camper box. In my case I had to show that it was in-fact a camper. That meant it had to have a bed, cook...

    Rear stabilizer bar bushings

I do however lube them before I install them. That will last a while on this truck. Usually only have to lube them every 40k miles

    Rear stabilizer bar bushings

I have done that in the past on my street trucks that get annoying to listen to. However I doubt that I will ever hear these way back there over this engine. HAHAHA

    Rear stabilizer bar bushings

Ok, just figured that I would share what I did to replace my worn out swawbar rubber bushings,(item 8 in the drawings). NOTE: Now please understand that this is just how I handled the problem/fix. By no means is it the right way or wrong way. Also understand that nine is a highly used RV and I...

    M1078 Fuel Tanks

Yes I did build the camper from scratch. Started with 2 x 3 x 1/8 steel for the perimeter frame and 2x2 16 gauge studs. It took me about 7 months to build doing it after work and weekends. Built every cabinet in the thing also out of birch. and not the typical RV construction. Really doesn't...

    M1079 check those hubs!

All, Well I returned from my trip and have found that,Yes, my hub temps did come down using the LUCAS additive. Now I only put in one gal in the rear axle and it did drop from 140-145 temps down to 120-125 deg temp. I think that is a win in my book. I will try to add more at the next go round...

    CTIS Overspeed at terminal velocity!

Ok all, Have a question about my CTIS over speed flickering when I get to between 58-60 mph. Sometimes it does it sometimes not. However for those who have and those of us wanting to go to MRAP gears, how are we dealing with this issue at the higher speeds? Manual says that freeway setting is...

    M1079 check those hubs!

I'm getting ready to head out in a overnight camping trip in my mountains in about an hour. I will let you know how it feels and temps. It said to use 50-100% Lucas on the bottle. I just put in 1 gal. It was hard to put in as it is thick. I will report my findings today if I have signal on my...
